How to Use a GIF or Video as your Reddit Profile Picture (Template Provided)

You can upload a GIF as your Reddit profile picture if you use a simple trick which we talk about in this video! Take advantage of this feature to customize your Reddit profile and make it stand out a bit more. Not all GIFs will work though - they must have the dimensions of 256x256 pixels and the file must be less than 500KB. In this tutorial, we’ll show you how to resize a GIF or make your own GIF from a video clip so you can use it as your Reddit PFP.
There are 6 easy steps:
1. Open the template www.kapwing.co...
2. Upload your GIF or video clip
3. Cut the video down to 1 second or less (so the output file will be less than 500KB)
4. Click “Publish”, then “Download” to save your pfp
5. Change the file extension to .png
6. Upload to your Reddit profile picture

Twitter banned GIF profile pictures a few years ago, but users who had them before the ban were able to keep them. So there isn't any way to do it now unfortunately :/

@@chrisb1495 i had the same gif banner for a year or two and now trying to even get that is impossible, ive tried uploading off my phone, changing resolution and file size, making it a apng, jpg, leaving it as a gif and renaming it a png and nothing works, I got it to shutter for half a second a couple times and then just goes right back to being static..
