I think this is a wonderful supplement to the Film Photography Podcast. Anyone who has seen this video but does't know about the podcast yet needs to get on it. One thing I'd really love to see if videos are done regularly would be to cover instant film options for old large format press cameras like the Crown Graphic.

@RecordGuy3434 Hi, Yes it does. You want Fujifilm FP-100c (color) or FP-3000b (bw). A few films have been discontinued but occasionally you can still find packs - Fujifilm FP-100b (BW) or Polaroid 664 (bw)

I just found a Colorpack 88 Land Camera in my storage room. It seems to be the old Camera from my Grandparents. I made some pictures but all of them turn white. Unfortunately, I didn't found a Manual. Is there somewhere a Battery hidden that I need to replace? Also, the Films might be quite old. They have written POLACOLOR R K85K696E on the films. Happy for every help!
@FilmPhotographyProject3 жыл бұрын
When you open the camera, you will see 2 AA batteries ear the inside of the lens. Sadly, Type 88 film is no longer made and packs you may find will most likely be dry. :(

Hi! I've found my uncles old polaroid colorpack 88. I have looked for films at ebay but they're all "expired" are they still usable? Or what film should I use?
@FilmPhotographyProject11 жыл бұрын
Hi, The Polorpack 88 only uses Type 80 "square" film which is no longer made. Some expired films are good but if its older than 6 years, it might be dried up. Consider getting a Colorpack II camera which uses fresh, Fuji FP-100c film.

Is your shutter working properly? (see Polaroid Shutter Test video we offer) Are you shooting outdoors? Shoot in sunlight for your first test shots. Are you holding your finger down on the shutter til the shutter opens and fully closes (especially important in shooting in dim light!)

Hi, Yes, the Colorpack, Colorpack II, Colorpack III and the Colorpack IV all use Fujifilm FP-100c or FP-3000b. Older type 100 film will also work just fine! Google Film Photography Project.

i have the colour swinger polaroid land camera and it has the bronze front plate and i've tried to use the FP-100C film and it doesn't fit do you know what film i could use and where to find it?
@senorverde0912 жыл бұрын
Pretty much. Although the flashcubes are nice, they're pretty much for indoor use. However, these cameras have an 'electric eye' which measures the amount of light needed for proper exposure and keeps the shutter open as needed, meaning that you have to keep rock steady during these long exposures or your image will be blurred. My guess for night shooting: use flashcubes on close subjects, keep the lighten knob all the way up, brace yourself on a table to keep steady and use 3000 speed film-B&W.
@kglinnen12 жыл бұрын
My friend just gave me one of these the other day. He also has one. The one he gave me has some issues. The shutter will not expose the film. The battery contacts and the interior are in perfect condition; clean and no corrosion. Still even with new batteries, the shutter won't open. I compared to his and his is working fine. Is there anything else that it could be other than it's just broken?
@ecuamario13 жыл бұрын
When the sound comes out, it sort of "locks" for a second but then the cube is not in a symmetric position (as it should). I already tried different cubes... did I mess up my camera? what was the right way to take the flashcube out?

Me and my siblings got one of these as A hand-me down in 1974 when our dad got an SX-70. I think the instructions taught to hold the camera from the "T" strap when you pull out the picture to help to even spread of the chemicals. In the early 1980's owned 100,250 and 440 automatic models. Just got A "600" at goodwill (3 dollars) and on the "bay" A mint automatic 450 at A good price. Am looking forward to trying these newer instant films !

Indoors without a flash cube will result in a dark or blurry shot. Most Color Packs tahe the Blue Dot Flash Cube ( filmphotographyproject.com/store/blue-dot-flash-cubes )...newer models (like the Colorpack IV tahe the Hi=Power Flash Cubes - filmphotographyproject.com/store/hi-power-flash-cubes ) The camera will work GREAT outdoors without flash.

Brian Louie hi Brian. Did you end up sorting your problem with the black exposures? I also took photos indoors and they turned out completely black. Did it work when you took photos outside in the daylight?

Jake Mckeown It turns out I goofed up and put in the batteries upside down. Everything seemed to work just fine after adjusting! Thanks for following up! I did have a question about drying the negative and the exposure. After I peel apart the film there seems to be a sticky residue on the negative and around its edges. This stuck to one of my exposures and left a sticky emulsion layer that I can't seem to remove. Any tips on drying/handling the film after the exposure to prevent this?

Not familiar with the Colorpack III. Google search the III and you'll find resources on-line that explain this feature.

Is it because of the type of film that you didn't use the slides on the back of the camera? Cause the box says you need to heat up the color slides and put your negative in that for 60 seconds and then peel.

@senorverde0912 жыл бұрын
You mean flash CUBES? They're your only source of illumination when taking shots inside. You load one up, twist it until it locks, and every time you take a picture the cube rotates 90 degrees for your next shot. So as you can infer, you only get four flashes out of one cube and they're one time use only. This was a big improvement over the earlier flashbulbs that were only single bulbs and had to be changed manually every shot!
@FilmPhotographyProject11 жыл бұрын
For the Colorpack camera you'll need Blue Dot Flash Cubes. Yup, avail at the FPP Store.
