Hi! This is an old video but I just got my 20u73 set to this and I’m having issues catching the thread when my foot is off.. I don’t have the embroidery plate yet as I ordered one but am using the zig zag plate. Is there an adjustment that needs to be done? Or do I need the embroidery plate. It works with the zigzag foot attached but it’s hard to move the fabric around freely

Take the feed dogs out and put the plate back on

My singer 20u won’t pick up the bobbin thread unless I use the foot, do you know how to get it to work like you just showed without the foot?

What is wrong when you can't pull bobbin thread up

Check the bobbin case and bobbin that there are not dented or out of shape. And when you’re pulling the thread up and it doesn’t come out that means the machine is at a time.

I do t trust my hands I use a darning foot. bI can see me get my hand under that needle.
