How to use a Slug Shotgun in Destiny 2 (Shotgun Guide)

Slugs are really good on Osmiomancy warlocks. Body shots will shatter immediately, guaranteeing the kill if they are out of melee range. With prismatic, I use the exotic class item with Osmiomancy/claw. So I have juiced cold snaps with double stasis melee for any aggressive player that wants to push. I pair it with Rose/Duality for the high handling and it works like a dream.

haha right? I remember when I finally decided to try slugs, I found a fortissimo hanging out in my vault with Fluted, Assault and accurized, TD, OS (Stability MW, but meh). Also found a Gunnora's Axe with Hammer Forged, Ricochet, TD, OS, Handling MW. Funny thing was I hated shotguns at the time (newbie) so I almost deleted them. When I came across Gjerda's slug video, I decided to check the vault and there they were. Now I've been trying to collect all slugs (minus the pirate and nessa's). heritage is great, but something about that Suros frame I love. I also have aa FILO and Blasphemer with Hip Fire/OS each. I have an inquistor that mainly had jacked stats but not great rolls.... i'm pretty ass at trials, so I barely play.

Yeah hipfire/OS is a great combo to try on slugs. I have a First in Last Out with it, lots of fun. Not having to ADS really helps you play the extra range by keeping your radar up.

I thought I’d be too cool to click on the vid but the simple tips actually helped. You gotta try to be outside the range of other shottys while still being in range of yours. Right after watching this I went crazy in competitive with my austringer and gunnoras. It helped me win a 2v3 too 😂

On titan they're pretty good if you have the knockout aspect since you get crazy easy cleanups with the improved melee

In order to make Slug shotguns assured… Use DoT/AoE/area denial/ Grenades. It sets a Gap & buys time for you & teammates to reel in some DPS from range. Slug shotguns are basically close range sawed off Snipers with no scope.

I'm a bad PVP player, but I'll say that the most fun I've ever had just trying out a slug on a whim was Astrocyte blinklock. Couldn't believe how people were just not ready for the angles I could get to and hipfire melee, or occasionally that push void melee and crit at a pretty long range.

I want to mention heritage as the best legendary in the kinetic slot, it gets both high handling and aim assist unlike any other legendary slug, gets insanely good perks: hip fire grip,threat detector, slideshot,killing wind,moving target, snapshot sights. and i also want to mention swashbuckler bc after a meele kill you can one tap body with so thats a nice gimmick. Offhand strike too with hip fire grip is disgusting, its basically the hip fire chaperone

Titan main pris is simple invis and pont contact with thruster. It gives you the ability to survive or kill a 1 v 2 or 3. Slug one strand meele and sparky boom death. You either die killing them or you live to walk of invisible to kill your next target. Its quite destructive its my main im suros and gunoras ax threat detector opening shot.

I'm mostly a MnK player but I have an invis, dang, and Chappy loadout saved just for when I play controller. Slugs with the AA and reticle friction are insanely free. I also use inquisitor on MnK when my pellet shottys are on strike and not being consistent.

Man I used to use slugs religiously, but then got a godly retold tale with QuickDraw snap shot in season 13, and have been using pellets since. I’ve now lost all muscle memory of using slugs. Sad.

Kinetic slugs specifically have the highest (literally almost double in most cases) of all the pinpoint frames. With base Harry sitting at 68, Chap at 70, and Blasphm at 61. All the others are at around 35-40 AA. Just some food for thought for us pinpoint enjoyers.

Pellets should have a max range of 7m and slugs are meant to have a range of 11m but pellets are way to inconsistent for you to even get a kill at 7m, precisions might do it but light weights will almost never get a kill past 6.5m

So glad u love Inquisitor too its my fav. I have like 2.7 k on my adept and it has 100 handling at all times. So nasty the main reason I just cant with chappy is the swap animation is slower than a normal shottys due to the tex mechanica style so the 80 handling is not really an actual 80 I just always feel like its to slow to swap compared to my Inquisitor. I gotta give chappy more time to get used to just frustrating tho. I actually got a nasty fortissimo that I mained as well its like a baby inquisitor but so good. To bad its in strikes and not enhanceable like inquisitor. 😂😂

I had a friend of mine get livid when I use slugs in our private match’s saying it takes less skill than then a pellet. My response was “umm no I actually have to hit a headshot unlike you” after this put on a pellet and dumpstered him🤣I love my friends but they say some goofy stuff and I’m not the best player in this game. Far from it actually I’m getting better it will just take time. I just have fun with slugs. 🤷🏽‍♂️
