Saying you're not an artist since you're using ai while also saying it's a tool mean that you're also not an artist if you use any digital tool at your disposal to help you create your piece. ai is here to give less talented artist the mean to get what they are after without having to sacrifice days drawing. At the end of the day you're the one saying if the result is what you want, you just eradicated the manual drawing but still need to direct the ai correctly. That's basically being a digital artist (sorry but drawing isn't the only form of art out there).

It's tricky. I think "photo-editing" can be considered a form of art, but to me, a traditional artist is someone starting with nothing, and turning into something. When I say "AI is not art", it's referring just to the individual output of the AI. Once I start to work on it, it's 100% an art piece. Just.. maybe not as impressive as something someone with real talent could do.
