@@TaMuchlyPaperBlooms would I be able to still use inks with colored paper? Or is starting with a white the best way forward

It probably depends on the colour you’re starting with, and the colour you’re hoping to achieve. White paper will get you the most accurate colour to the ink in the bottle, but you can definitely try other colours too. I’ve used a lemon colour with a pink ink before to get a nice grandiflora rose, and I quite often dye my green paper with a dark green to get a more realistic effect too. Lighter coloured paper usually works best, but you can use darker too, you might just need more ink. I would suggest doing a quick test on some scraps to check it first.

Does the paper retain it's shape when using the alcohol/alcohol ink or does it change the paper's integrity?

You just need to stretch/shape it once it’s dry, but the integrity of the paper is the same as before you use the ink.
