Perfect. I am planning to make a tin pannel ceiling with a relief design in copper finish in my cabin. It needs to be metal for fireproofing over my woodstove. Real ones are extremely expensive so I am planning on making my own. This way I can have the look I want without breaking the bank with real copper sheet. Thank you for sharing.

@@janicescragg2388 I want to do something dramatic and beautiful on my kitchen ceiling and now I'm thinking I might do the same. Mine doesn't have to be fireproof so I can actually just paint the ceiling copper and then do the finish.

The inside of the can has a thin coat of resin/polymer based plastic to protect the contents from leaching out the Aluminium also the design ink is epoxy/acrylic based , so the metallic spray paint should coat well both sides as long as clean / degreased. Good looking copper effect👍 Gaz UK.

This looks like a lot of fun, and I am definitely going to try it. Now I just have to find some aluminum cans, I don’t drink pop, and I live alone so I’m going to ask some family members to save their cans for me. A great way to distribute that paint would be dabbing with a sea sponge. Another way to get call textures is to come pull up some saran wrap and then open it up a little bit and lay it flat on your painted wet surface and let it dry. It will give a nice texture.

@@UpcycleDesignLab haha Thanku Im hoping it will be, at the moment my dining table is completely covered in all sorts of bits n bobs, copper fittings, pipes, hoses, gauges and a huge asst of other bits of junk, I've painted all I need to and prepped everything, which is the easy part, its the assembly of all the pieces now...🙄🥴😳 Steampunk looks like a bit of a pile of junk but putting it all together so it looks like a working mechanical machine is quite hard, I never really got into jigsaws which I think would help fit pieces together but I've worked on my car and a few Harley Davidsons so I should be ok hahaha. Fingers crossed and thanku for replying 🥰

Hi love you videos. Can you glue sheets together to make a bigger sheet
@UpcycleDesignLab Жыл бұрын
Hi - I haven't found any glue that is great for this purpose. E6000 will hold but it is hard to spread evenly. I have also used clear mounting tape that is made for metal but it is thick and doesn't make a flat even seam. My favorite product for attaching the sheets together is metal tape but it has its own draw backs. It is visible and it is not a very strong tape but it is very tacky and easy to work with. Hope that helps thanks for watching 😊
@Ohwhale792 жыл бұрын
I don't know if anyone mentioned this yet, but the specific nozzle is what helps make the hammered spray paint have that "hammered" look, as well as some paint additives. I don't know if this applies to every hammered look paint though!

I wondered if that might be the case. Thanks for watching.
