Ha ha I have thought of the centre stand and running it also I made the power lead to plug into the aux on the bike so actually could ride it on the road and fix the AFR box and have a watch what's going on . I think a quiet road would be best or an old Airfield which I have a few around Norfolk left from WW2.

Thank you for your dedication to sharing this info as you go about your build. Most of the information out there is old and hard to piece together through dead links on the forums. One question though, why did you go with air/fuel gauge as opposed to carbon monoxide tester like the Gunson Gastester? I know Catfish had always recommended using the CO tester to get the ratio right. I have neither because $$$ but hoping to find one eventually

Thanks for your comments and the short answer is that you actually need a four gas tester and like you said mega $$$ or £££. I had an old snap on one from the 1980 and when it broke it was impossible and expensive to repair this is the same with the gunson one I've heard mixed reports . The innovative AFR with wide band oxygen sensor will measure the ratio through the whole rev range so I thought I would give it a go.
