Could you maybe thin it a little and put on walls of a room?? I previously painted kids rooms. One technique sponged on gold over wall paint, worked great!! 2nd room painted walls great cream color, sponged pearl glaze over walls, looked beautiful!! It's time to redo, it's been well over 10 yrs, products have changed, but I want similar looks. Rhe walls still look like beautiful pearl shimmer even years later!! :):) in living room, used technique where I put couple shades darker paint, sponged on couple shades lighter glaze, worked wonderful!! In dining room same technique 2 different colors, but again, time to redo. :(:( No longer familiar with current techniques. Though I am older now, want to make it easier if possible.

Can this be used on tile? Thinking of using it over my kitchen backsplash tiles.

Can you add something to the glaze so it doesn't dry so quickly? I'm doing a design on a wall surface and I need to be able to work it without it drying for quite awhile

A glaze is defined as a color superimposed over another color. That of course is the short version... Pearl essence is a type of pigment. Mixed with a glaze medium of many types it is then a glaze and not before. As a base over the myriad of primers "pearl" is the foundation upon which various glazes are applied. The paste form is much all the same stuff so far as the waterbourne versions. Also available are alkyd base, solvent type lacquer base and catalyzed versions. The latter versions being the foundations for what are called "Candy Colors" or sometimes "Kandy Kolors" by one popular supplier. The earliest versions of the Candy effect "pearl" base were organic..The pearl look was finely ground herring scales suspended in nitrocellulose lacquer. ( Sounds fishy no? ) Very early versions are still around including some examples from Barris Kustoms post WWII. Kudos to the set dresser. a bit of overkill but that's show biz.

It looks like paint to me, not glaze. Glad I watched this video. It's lovely, but not what I'm looking for.
