How to use auto mode on your Dyson Pure humidify + cool™

Set your Dyson purifying humidifying fan to Auto purify mode and the on-board sensors will intelligently adjust the settings of your machine according to the air quality.
Air quality: Your machine will pause when the target air quality has been reached, switching on again when the air quality levels drop. Airflow speed: the airflow speed will increase until the target air quality and temperature have been reached.
Set your Dyson purifying humidifying fan to Auto humidify mode and the on-board sensors will intelligently adjust the settings of the machine according to the temperature and humidity of your room.
To turn off Auto humidify mode or to change the humidity levels manually, press the Humidity control button.
Step 1. Select Auto purify
Step 2. Your machine will monitor your air quality
Step 3. And purify when needed
Step 4. Select Auto humidify
Step 5. Your machine will monitor humidity levels
Step 6. And humidify when needed
Step 7. We recommend leaving your machine in these modes
Step 8. You can also adjust your settings manually
Step 9. Use this button to control purification airflow speed
Step 10. And this button to adjust humidity levels
Step 11. If you select below the room's current humidity level
Step 12. The screen will turn grey

Hi Dyson. I bought this unit it’s beautiful. I have had it running for 4 days non stop on speed 10. Filling the water everytime it gets close to low. It runs all night as well. My humidity has marginally changed even with a closed window. My living room is very very tiny. I close the door for hours and the humidity has never exceeded 30. What am I doing wrong here to get this to a comfortable 50-60 range as it should be? Any suggestions

I had exactly the same issue. The humidity level never goes more than 30% even though I run it all days and put it in sleep mode every night...and I had to put the purifier on speed 10 to make the humidity level not drop down even though it was pretty loud...

So its either humidify OR purify? What if both levels are not ok, switch from auto purify to auto humidify every few hours...?

Purification cannot be turned off. It purifies as it humidifies.

I would not recommend this product to anyone. It is so ridiculously loud. My blueair 311+ and Levoit purifiers are far more quiet and clean the air far faster. And a 1/4 of the price too. The only thing Dyson has to offer is the vacuums. Everything else is a waste

I got this machine and it is really great. But what angers me is that the increment for the humidity is 10. I would prefer something like 43 - 45 %. It is really a huge difference to 50% or 40%.

I would like to add that the programing is not really smart. So I set it to 40% and the bloody thing did not start even at 37%. So I had to adjust it to 50% and then 40% again so to keep it running. Meanwhile the humidity dropped to 33%. Come on Dyson. You can do better for such an expensive device.

Hi Dyson. My device continuously runs on fan level 10 when on Auto, even when the air is shown to be clean. The humidifier struggles to get over 40. Is this normal?

Could be also that your air must be humidified and so the ventilator runs on level 10. That happens sometimes at mines

I had one delivered yesterday by Dyson and after talking to support, it's going back today for replacement. In Breeze mode there was a terrible grinding/buzzing sound. In auto mode, the fan refused to switch on despite the room being very hot. I'm not convinced of the robust design and functionality of this product. I have a new album out Monday and had hoped for trouble-free cooling in the build up. So far, I was wrong to expect this.
