With modern cameras, you often don’t need to keep pressing a button to lock focus in AF-C (continuous autofocus) mode for video, as the camera can track the subject automatically. For older cameras, particularly D-SLRs that rely on contrast-detection autofocus rather than phase-detection, maintaining focus during video can be a significant challenge, as contrast detection can struggle with moving subjects. These older models might require additional manual adjustments to ensure the subject stays in focus throughout the recording. By selecting the right focus mode and features for your subject, you can let your camera work more seamlessly, enhancing the quality of your video.
