For anyone wondering why their brand new 3d pen won't heat up: simply, your 3d pen (I am basing this on the blue pen) came with the power cable, but not the power brick (the part you plug into a wall socket, with a usb connector or three). The pen demands 12v, and the cable can supply that, but your power brick may not be able to. On most bricks, the max voltage is on the back (the part that usually faces the wall), and you can check it simply by looking for the part that says (some number)v. If that number is not equal to or exceeding 12, then your pen will not function correctly, and you will need a more powerful brick that can supply 12v. Hope this helps! (Btw I'm 13 and am probably smarter than all you moms looking for how to use the 3d pen you bought for your son/daughter/non-binary child)

Yes, I am one of those Mums and I am really grateful to you! We had it plugged into the wall and it just kept being chaotic... moved it to charge from the laptop (yes, as the leaflet literally shows us...) and it's heated up perfectly and finally gone green! I bow to you, oh teenage genius.

My son got this exact pen for Christmas. The temperature only goes up to 130 and then shuts off it doesn't get anywhere near the 190 that you show on your video. Also it came with wire and no actual plug. we used one from our cell phone but I noticed in your video your pen has its own complete plug

The wire should be a USB connection so it can be connected to any 2A USB port ie on a laptop or device charger. It’s possible your pen was set at 130 and all you have to do is press the direction arrows next to display until numbers show 190 or more then allow it to heat. It will stop at whatever you’ve set it to.
