Hi Lucy! Thanks for your detailed information about the collocation "Be supposed to"! The worst luck is supposed to be brought when the black cat breaks the mirror with the empty bucket (the terrible triple combination of bad lucks in Russian culture (the black cat crossing your way, breaking the mirror, and meeting the women with the empty bucket)

Thank you so much Lucy. I have been watching your videos for six years now, learning very much from you. I did an IELTS exam last month and got a band seven(7). I'm very grateful for how well you teach your subject matter. God bless you and keep doing the awesome work you do.

Your English is very good! My only correction (from a native English speaker) would be to swap “so” for “very” in the second sentence. “…learning so much from you.”

@@user-no2mz9hl4f 'Thank you so' much is perfectly correct in speaking. Maybe it's not where you're from.

@@Ericadbury Yes, it is. I’m not sure what that has to do with my comment. I was referring to the sentence, “I have been watching your videos for six years now, *learning very much from you* “Learning very much from you” doesn’t sound natural, whereas “learning so much from you” does.

Thank you , Lucy for your videos, that help me to improve my English! I come from Russia, and here, people believe, that knocking on wood or spitting over the shoulder will bring you good luck or will scare the evil spirit. Bad luck is connected with a shaking a hand over a door-step( in a doorway), as well as returning to the same place , after you have just left it. But breaking glass objects- on the contrary, brings luck.

Hi Lucy, thanks for the video! In Taiwan, people avoid mentioning “4” as the pronunciation of such number is similar to that of “death” in Taiwanese, so it’s supposed to bring bad luck. For this reason, you might find yourself unable to reach the 4th floor, but only the 3rd and 5th because the owner of the building quite probably have omitted it on purpose 😂

in Slovakia, we say that you should not put your bag/purse on the ground (especially when your wallet is inside) because you might lose money. :) we also have the same bad omens as in other parts of the world, like a black cat crossing your path, walking under a ladder (to unjinx it, you need to walk back under the ladder in the opposite direction), saying that some negative thing happens to someone, etc. :)
