@@FishAlaska I’m not talking about cans of actual bear spray. (A can of the stuff is way too expensive for just practice/pretend encounters.) I’m asking about something benign to “rehearse” with so I’m familiar with how to best use it if, God forbid, I should ever need to deploy it.

@@HughButler-lb6zs Sells what? Just cans of bear spray? That’s not what I’m looking for. (Read my response to the channel creator if I’m not being clear.) I need something to practice with. Actual cans of bear spray are too expensive (and dangerous) to use when training myself & my family how to get familiar with deployment, speed, range, etc.

Hold off spraying until necessary. Then it's easy: choose between not-fun chemical pain or, slightly worse, teeth through the face from 600 pounds of thrashing muscle.

I would prefer a firearm and would worry about the reporting after defending my life later. The problem with firearms are they are a pain in the ass to travel with. My research so far has shown the rules you must follow to be ambiguous. Typical beareaucratic BS.

I tried using it around my garden to scare the deer and rabbits away. But the damn stuff smells nothing like bears. I think it's a rip off.
