I'm excited to see the number of cocoons you were able to add to your new CFT. I'm seeing a few cocoons in my new bins after just two weeks with the worms and I can't wait to see them hatching and multiplying. Thanks for your videos. I'm learning a lot.

It's very exciting when you see your worm's population grow 😊 Thanks for watching

You want the biocar wet when you add to your worm castings. So it's less dusty and the biocar is not so repeld by water.

Just found your channel - great info - thanks. Question: Does adding biochar alter the pH significantly ?. And, do you ever add powdered yeast ?. Thanks for all your hard work. 🙋

Excellent to encourage the amendments for the plants right into the bedding, that’s what I do too. My bedding consists of lots of shredded cardboard and paper, ripped cardboard (various sizes), coco coir, spent coffee grounds, dried leaves, then 1-2 cups Humichar (Humic Acid and Biochar), Azomite (1-2 cups), mycorrhiza fungi (just a handful), crab meal & pulverized egg shell (2 cups), Neem cake (1 cup), Recharge (just a handful), rock dust (1 cup), several handfuls of fresh cut grass, and I’m going to start adding a handful of kelp meal and alfalfa. I start the mix with coco coir, several gallons of water and a 1/4 cup blackstrap molasses (add water till a soup-like consistency) then add and mix the amendments, then add the paper/leaves/cardboard, then add the nitrogen sources. I mix it up in a really large wheelbarrow then store it in buckets. If it’s quite heavy on coco and coffee, then I can add more shredded papers in a Rubbermaid container that acts as my current supply. Oh, I always put the leftovers of sifting and previous aged bedding in the new bedding mix too. The worms go crazy for it and now I’m harvesting so much more frequently! I store my vermicompost in vented buckets and bait out worms a few times a month. The compost continues to breakdown in the buckets until I use it. I have so much I will be gifting it this Christmas, lol.

@@northeastworms I just received a Vermibag Lil Mammoth and was wanting to get some African Nightcrawlers (I saw Dee’s video!) but your website says you are not shipping worms right now, and yeah, heatwave. Do you know when you will? Or can you message me when you do? I have been shredding up tons of extra cardboard cuz I understand they love carbons more than nitrogens, lol.

I love that you use biochar in your bins Mr. G. My worms love when I add it. I do have a question. What is the brand of lime you use? I have a bit of a mite problem and the lime I used almost cost me my entire worm farm. Looking forward to the next video.

I get the lime to the store "Tractor Supply " and was not expensive, if I remember well 20 lbs bag was around $7.50

How long do you plan on keeping that bin? Osb and moisture won’t last a year. Why would you do that?

I build this bin almost a year ago and is still perfect

Please order the amount of biochar from the total nutrient environment?
@northeastworms2 жыл бұрын
Is about 1 gallon for all the bin, mixed in the initial bedding

I'm finding that Biochar is not the end all be all we once thought it was. I am probably only going to use it very sparingly.

Did you charge it before use? If not then it sucks out all the nutrients and microbes out of your soil.👍
