I have the drive recorder in my BMW M3 touring. I purchased a 3-year subscription. It is not as good as a regular dashcam as it does not continuously record video like a normal dashcam. A few months back, a pickup truck reversed into me and hit the front. As the force of the impact was not much, the drive recorder did not activate. I had minor damage in the front. I could not claim insurance as my drive recorder did not record the event. I regret purchasing it, as it costs much more than a high-end dashcam.

I know right? They need to make an update where it starts recording even if there's a slight bump, I would be pissed if someone hit my XM with his door and it wouldn't record..

My X2 2025 connected with Android via wifi, Bluetooth and My BMW app but can not transfer saved videos. It says Can not Transfer 😢

I cannot export recorded files to my iphone. Also, using mybmw app on my iphone to recorder does not work. USB memory is OK. Why? Any suggestions?

I find it very cumbersome especially while driving when you will need this feature the most. It takes a long time to come up and it can't multi-task with other functions? Clicking to another function on the wheel cancels the recording so it can take over the screen.
