Many years ago, I learned from a New York street brawler that brass knucks are a first strike tool, like a switch blade. The person doesn't know what they are in for until it is too late. An interesting summer with my aunt back in the early sixties. She really knew some interesting people.

I actually have a pair of these but I haven’t used them yet because I was afraid I’d break my hand. I probably would have considering I was holding them very incorrectly, but at least I know how to hold them now. Thanks man!

you can throw quick straight jabs with brass knuckles I have done it before against brick/wood and it didnt hurt at all if u where em correctly you can punch at any angle

What i have done is wrapped tyre tube rubbers below the knucks so that my palm doesnt hurt i would only use it if there are multiple opponents but if there is a single guy i would go bare hands

My favourite weapon of all time I carry mine always when I leave the house, I disagree with some bits like the palm brace, they don’t break your wrist because they absorb the shock of the punch n the way you swing can break your fingers from the brass knuckle pushing back between the top of your clenched fist but overall great vid👍🏽

These knuckles are not for combat use don’t not use them the palm brace is required as your two middle fingers are supposed to tuck back into that huge palm hole to make a solid fist. If actually worm property you can swing haymakers don’t listen to these people they never been in a real fight

He's got it right. I discovered the exact same techniques by trial and error, and studying what others who have used them had to say. Everything pointed to the same methods and tactics. The knuckleduster is an ancient weapon. It appears in every single culture across the entire world since before recorded history. They've been made of brass, steel, iron, aluminum, bronze, copper, lead, silver, gold, plastic, wood and horn. The leather palm sap filled with a lead slug or shot and worn over the knuckles is a close cousin that delivers impact without cutting. A vast array of configurations exist, with one, two, three and four knuckles. Parisian Apaches, or Les Apaches, a 19th century French street gang, used a single knuckle variant disguised as a ring, and had a distinctive revolver/knuckles/knife combination weapon. They turn up quite a bit in battlefield excavations from the Civil War to WWI. Soldiers would cast them from lead bullets in the field. Militaries and police departments have issued them. The weight of the weapon and how much force you use is extremely important. A heavy version swung for the fences will fracture or crush the skull and is highly lethal. It can easily break the collarbone or ribs. Longer tines over the finger stalls can crush the eye, and sharp square edges lacerate badly. Even a relatively light and slender version can easily break the bones in the face and sides of the head. If they weren't so brutally effective, they wouldn't be illegal in so many places. Though that is now changing for the better. It makes very little sense to allow your citizens to generally legally carry firearms but not a far less lethal and injurious weapon. Avoid sharpened or spiked versions. They puncture and cut the skin without really delivering deep blunt force. Also they make you look especially malicious, and are pointless. No humor intended...

I don't like the large extension thing you called a "brace;" my mentor used them daily w/a huge city PD back in the early 60s, 70s, til 1985 (in his words, "looks better than hitting someone w/a stick, they didn't even issue them and they also taught the rear naked choke, which he used for 30 years w/o EVER killing anyone, but it's fallen out of fashion, love the "Knucks!") and he was 5.5, 150 and throttled 350lb body builders on PCP (literally fighting for his life more times than he could recall) so those clowns that say they don't work...have likely never even been in a fist fight & are flat ass...WRONG. Braced knuckles are not inherently *bad* they just have a larger margin for error and require a very good understanding of how they work! I hope you never have to use them either!

Throwing a punch with brass knuckles is very different to throwing a normal punch. The mechanics and physics behind the strike are completely different. Short, fast jabs - definitely not big straight rights. You have obviously never used brassies before. They are a ridiculously effective self defence item. I would choose them over anything short of a gun.
