I just wanted to say that something that I have found out for myself, is that if you keep the melody on top of the chord, you will almost always have a correct inversion if you build the chord backwards from it. Never really heard anyone talking about it though!

Nice observation! And your right it’s all about perspective and once you break out of the musical boxes we’ve been taught you’ll realize a world of options are available no matter what key your in.

Salut Jonathan and hello from Switzerland Firstly, your learning videos are amazing. So well explained. I enjoy listening to you and that's key to (my) progress and success. Hope your channel gets more traction. It would be so deserved. So thank you a million times! About me: I put a lot of energy in playing songs as provided by many tutorials on YT. I always succeed to my level of satisfaction. Ultimately, I play what seems complicated songs (e.g. MJ Billy Jean by Piano Lion) fully out of (muscle) memory* without ANY understanding of the theory You can only imagine how much time and energy I put into this - on top, I'm not a fast learner😏. * in fact, muscle memory a word that is so important to spread among piano beginners as it takes away the fear of so many keys in front of you. It is the holy grale to playing piano and everybody can do it! And I only heard it from you. Now, to my key point and probably you can support or have an opinion. Let's assume I understood all of your theory lessons. Now, are you aware of more-fun-than-standard-practising exercises that help me in "knowing all scales, knowing all chords/progressions" (I'm quoting you here 😊). With knowing I mean not remembering it in my head but in my muscle memory. I hope the above does make any sense to you? Please excuse any potential English errors. Please keep up your passion, empathy and piano skills. It feels so good - Chapeau!!!

If you come to the conclusion learning what I asked for is best done the way it is often shown well than it is what it is and everybody can decide whether or not to go through this "pain". But it feels there might be different ways, e.g. more close to real music that one likes. Again, thank you
