So, dude, the thing is, it's not possible because of hardware limitations. There's a long explanation why, but TLDR some chipsets are not powerful enough to use video layers, and without video layers there is no chroma key.

iOS - If you have KineMaster, you have chroma key. It only works for video layers. It's a video tool. To erase a background of an image, you can use a graphics app, OR you can try blending modes like screen. (Works best with a black background and NO black on your subject) ANDROID - If you do not have video layer support, you will not have chroma key. Unfortunately, you *usually* can't download/activate it because your hardware determines if you have it or not. You can check by going to KineMaster Main Screen > Settings > Device Capability Information, then tap the three dots on the top of the screen. If it says "Run in Layer Mode" choose that and you will have layers. If it doesn't say that, then your device's hardware is probably not powerful enough for video layer support, and therefore you can't get chroma key.

Hello! You might have to get a new device. Could you please go to the KineMaster Main Screen, then Settings, then Device Capability Infromation and confirm the level of video layer support you have? If you do not have any video layer support, you will not have chroma key. If you DO have video layer support, then please check to make sure you are using chroma key correctly by tapping on a video layer (a video added with Layer > Media and not the Media from the wheel directly) and then looking for chroma key in the option panel on the top right. @@facts4now621 KineMaster uses your phone or tablet's processor to edit video. Not every processor is the same. Some are not very powerful, while others are. If you tap the Layer button and you are only able to import images, that is due to the processor in your device not being able to handle video layers.

@@milosadamovic9498 Your phone or tablet's processor is only capable of a certain number of video layers. Older processors can't do video layers at all. New, top-of-the line processors can do lots of video layers. The reason why you see lines through your video layer is because your device's processor is unable to support that many video layers. You may be able to use more layers if you reduce their resolution, depending on your device.

Yes, right now there is a technical limitation of 1 second minimum for clips on the primary timeline, and layers on iOS. We're looking into it :)

Hello! To reorder your layers, please tap your layer so that it is highlighted, then tap the Options button on the Action Bar on the left side of the screen (it looks like three horizontal dots). You can tap any of the options that pop up to reorder you layers, moving them up or down in order of visibility. You can also Duplicate and Center you layers this way. We hope this helps!

It seems like you have a edge case device, which can have problems in KineMaster. You can try going to the KineMaster Main Screen > Settings > Device Capability Information and then tap the three vertical dots in the top right corner and try to run the scan and see if that helps. If that does not help, then reboot your device, go to your device's application manager, then KineMaster, (then Storage if you have it) then Clear Data (this will not delete your projects). Reboot your device again, and start KineMaster and DO NOT run the scan at the beginning. Check the Device Capability Information screen and see what happened. If that doesn't work, there might not be much else I can do to help. Sorry!

Hello! The y560 runs a Snapdragon 210 series chipset, which is on the low end of chipsets. I'm happy to hear that you can run KineMaster at all actually, but unfortunately you won't have video layer support, which means you won't be able to use chroma key. I'm sorry about that!

Lines on layers happen because each processor has a specific number of video layers it can support, at specific resolutions. If your device is unable to handle an additional video layer, when it's added it may show the layer with lines through it. Try reducing the resolution of the video clip that you're trying to add as a layer. You can do that by opening a new KineMaster project, importing that particular clip, then exporting it at a lower resolution. We hope this helps!

1. Most of the mods that say they work on lower end devices, don't actually work, and they may actually be dangerous to your device. If they do work, then get in touch if you want a job. ;) 2. It may be possible (very small chance) that we have missed a few devices in our testing. When we find devices like this, we make sure to support them. 3. There is a hardware limitation built into the chipset that directly determines how many layers you can have, if any at all. This is not something software can fix easily.

No. But, please read to the end. We're working on better masking tools that will allow you to remove areas of images etc and more. It will be more powerful than chroma key for images, which is why we're not allowing chroma key to be used for them. So... yes, but not how you're thinking about it :)

Chroma Key is applied to video layers. Add a background by tapping Media. Then add a video layer by tapping Layer> Media. Next, select your video layer by tapping on it in the timeline, then tap Chroma Key.

Hello! KineMaster relies on your phone or tablet's hardware to edit and export. If your processor isn't powerful enough to handle video layers, that option won't be available to you. A simple way to try to fix this is to create videos with fewer layers. To work around that limitation, try adding layers one at a time to your video, and export each time you add a layer. Then, import that video into a new project. You can also try reducing the resolution of the video clip that you're trying to add as a layer. You can do that by opening a new KineMaster project, importing that particular clip, then exporting it at a lower resolution.

Hello! In that case you need a background that stands out from your complexion. Perhaps a more vibrant green, or a more vibrant blue will help? I would suggest staying away from black/white/gray as they don't work well with the algorithm, and also red/orange because they can cause more confusion with skin tones, regardless of skin colour. I have a problem with putting a video as a layer. When I put a vid as a layer it is showing black lines over it and I can’t see anything because the pics from the media are covering over it. Even with a vid that contains music, I couldn’t hear a thing. Can you please tell me how to get rid of the black lines?

This happens because KineMaster relies on your phone or tablet's processor to edit and export video. If your device is unable to handle an additional video layer, when it's added it may show the layer with lines through it. Try reducing the resolution of the video clip that you're trying to add as a layer. You can do that by opening a new KineMaster project, importing that particular clip, then exporting it at a lower resolution. If this doesn't help, please contact KineMaster's technical support. You can do that by tapping the question mark button on the KineMaster main screen, then tap E-mail support.

Hello! Chroma key is only available on devices that have video layer support. If you do not have video layer support, you won't be able to have chroma key either. Sorry about that!

Okay... I finally got the "chroma key" icon to appear. First, I added a background (blue) then clicked on "Layer" and added a video and just like that, the "chroma key" icon appeared. I didnt follow the video from Kinemaster cause when I tried it by following the video, I could not find the Chroma icon. But after trying it again and again and again, I realized the icon would not appear unless i clicked on the video I added as a layer. If you touch the video you add as a layer, it should appear, in your options menu, if your phone is compatible.

Hello! The S5 should work with chroma key. Do you have video layer support? If you have video layer support then you will have chroma key too. It only works on video layers though, that is videos added with Layer > Media. It doesn't work with images. Could you please try it again and let us know?

Hello! iOS - You may be experiencing a bug. Please tell us what device you have :) Android - You may need to get a more powerful device. Do you have video layer support? If so, then you should have this as well. You can see what level of video layer support you have by visiting the KineMaster Main Screen > Settings > Device Capability Information. Thank you!

Not all devices (phones, tablets, chromebooks) are powerful enough to use video layers. To determine your device’s capabilities, please tap the Settings button on the main screen (it looks like a gear or a wheel) and then tap Device Capability Information. Tap the three dots in the top right. Then tap Run Analysis Now. This can take several minutes to complete. If your device is able to use video layers, it will tell you in the gray box on the right. Reboot your device after you have done this.

It does have chroma key. I don't why why everyone is thinking that all of a sudden... There are a few iPads that occasionally have a chroma key error, but 99.9% of iOS devices don't have a problem. Maybe you're one of the unlucky ones? If so, please send us a screenshot to [e-mail] and we'll look into it.

It's strange I use a Huawei mate 10 and the chroma key is not available but it works on my old Huawei P9 🤷‍♀️🤔 isn't it supposed to be working on an upgraded device. Can someone please help explain this to me I no longer use my old phone.

Hello! Hmm, that device should be powerful enough. Could you please go to the KineMaster Main Screen, then Settings, then Device Capability Information, to see if you have video layer support? If you do not, then tap the three dots on the top right and there might be an option that says "Run in Layer Mode" tap that and it should activate layers if it was not activated. If you do not have that menu item, don't tap anything else. Please let me know! (Make a new comment so I can see it. Thanks!)

Hello, did you watch the whole video? Chroma key only works for video layers (videos added with Layer > Media, NOT Media on the wheel). Also, it doesn't work for images.

No, I don't think you're doing anything wrong at that point. I would recommend going to your device manager and then choosing KineMaster, (then Storage if you have it) then Clear Data. This will refresh KineMaster but it won't delete your projects. Then go to KineMaster, and DO NOT run the scan. See if this works. If this does not work, go back to the screen you ran before, and run the scan. If this STILL does not work, then you should contact support (KineMaster Main Screen > Help > Email Support). They may not be able to help right away but they should know about this issue!

You're lucky I'm too old to know what 'tf' means. Chroma key will appear when you tap on a video clip added via Layer > Media and not the Media button on the wheel. If it doesn't, please let us know!

Well, I'm afraid your device might be a bit too old to use it... Do you have video layer support? You can go to the KineMaster Home Screen > Settings > Device Capability Information to learn about your level of video layer support. If you don't have video layer support, then you won't be able to use Chroma Key either. If you do have video layer support, then remember that chroma key only works for video layers, and not images.
