So, dude, the thing is, it's not possible because of hardware limitations. There's a long explanation why, but TLDR some chipsets are not powerful enough to use video layers, and without video layers there is no chroma key.

iOS - If you have KineMaster, you have chroma key. It only works for video layers. It's a video tool. To erase a background of an image, you can use a graphics app, OR you can try blending modes like screen. (Works best with a black background and NO black on your subject) ANDROID - If you do not have video layer support, you will not have chroma key. Unfortunately, you *usually* can't download/activate it because your hardware determines if you have it or not. You can check by going to KineMaster Main Screen > Settings > Device Capability Information, then tap the three dots on the top of the screen. If it says "Run in Layer Mode" choose that and you will have layers. If it doesn't say that, then your device's hardware is probably not powerful enough for video layer support, and therefore you can't get chroma key.

Hello! You might have to get a new device. Could you please go to the KineMaster Main Screen, then Settings, then Device Capability Infromation and confirm the level of video layer support you have? If you do not have any video layer support, you will not have chroma key. If you DO have video layer support, then please check to make sure you are using chroma key correctly by tapping on a video layer (a video added with Layer > Media and not the Media from the wheel directly) and then looking for chroma key in the option panel on the top right. @@KineMaster the chroma key works on my old phone and it's a 2016 model. However it doesn't work on my new phone and it's the latest version out. It's the same brand as my old phone. Is it possible that the company downgraded some features on the newer phone for it to not work.

Guys! I founded out how to get it! All you have to do is go to settings, then press device capability Information, then you click the 3 dots and click, run analysis now for 2 or 3 times, I would recommend 2 times, I'm not sure if this works on IOS but I think it works for Samsung tablets or Samsung devices, idk. But nice video ringmaster!

Hello! So, I wouldn't recommend doing that. Like, run it once by all means, but make sure you use "Clear Data" in your device's application manager and reboot your phone first. The problem with running running it multiple times is that it increases the chances of false results, which will turn on the layer functionality, but then it'll cause the app to crash a lot more, and you'll have export problems. For phones that are just powerful enough to run chroma key, this can help, but it can also cause problems. If you run into any problems, reboot your device, and Clear Data again to fix the issue.

If you tap the Layer button and you are only able to import images, that is due to the processor in your device not being able to handle video layers.

Yes, right now there is a technical limitation of 1 second minimum for clips on the primary timeline, and layers on iOS. We're looking into it :)

@@milosadamovic9498 Your phone or tablet's processor is only capable of a certain number of video layers. Older processors can't do video layers at all. New, top-of-the line processors can do lots of video layers. The reason why you see lines through your video layer is because your device's processor is unable to support that many video layers. You may be able to use more layers if you reduce their resolution, depending on your device.

Hello! The y560 runs a Snapdragon 210 series chipset, which is on the low end of chipsets. I'm happy to hear that you can run KineMaster at all actually, but unfortunately you won't have video layer support, which means you won't be able to use chroma key. I'm sorry about that!

It seems like you have a edge case device, which can have problems in KineMaster. You can try going to the KineMaster Main Screen > Settings > Device Capability Information and then tap the three vertical dots in the top right corner and try to run the scan and see if that helps. If that does not help, then reboot your device, go to your device's application manager, then KineMaster, (then Storage if you have it) then Clear Data (this will not delete your projects). Reboot your device again, and start KineMaster and DO NOT run the scan at the beginning. Check the Device Capability Information screen and see what happened. If that doesn't work, there might not be much else I can do to help. Sorry!

Studio lighting isn't necessary, but it can help eliminate unwanted shadows. You can use any green/blue sheet or piece of paper, those work really well!

Hello! KineMaster relies on your phone or tablet's hardware to edit and export. If your processor isn't powerful enough to handle video layers, that option won't be available to you. A simple way to try to fix this is to create videos with fewer layers. To work around that limitation, try adding layers one at a time to your video, and export each time you add a layer. Then, import that video into a new project. You can also try reducing the resolution of the video clip that you're trying to add as a layer. You can do that by opening a new KineMaster project, importing that particular clip, then exporting it at a lower resolution.

Chroma Key is applied to video layers. Add a background by tapping Media. Then add a video layer by tapping Layer> Media. Next, select your video layer by tapping on it in the timeline, then tap Chroma Key.

I finally got it to work. I added a background first, then clicked on "layer" and added a video and just like that, they 'chroma key" icon appeared. I could not see it at first. You have to touch the video you add as a layer and then the chroma key icon will appear int he option menu. I have an iphone 6 if anyone is curious. I tried it several times and could not see the icon until i touched the layer i added and just like that ...there it was. Now... i need to go back and follow the video as Kinemaster suggested, just remember to TOUCH the layer you add so that it is highlighted and then the "chroma key" appears

Hello. I downloaded KineMaster around a year ago, and at the time Chroma Key was there and I could use a green screen. Now, it is gone. I went into settings and device capability is not an option. I have an iPad Mini 4 so it should be supported? I also have video layers enabled and working.

You mention everything attempt to make the background black and foreground white using show mask however I’m of a deeper complexion so the background seems to stick to my skin, how can I fix this?

Hello! In that case you need a background that stands out from your complexion. Perhaps a more vibrant green, or a more vibrant blue will help? I would suggest staying away from black/white/gray as they don't work well with the algorithm, and also red/orange because they can cause more confusion with skin tones, regardless of skin colour. Those devices have different models, some of which work, but most don't. I would say odds are, no, but I can't say for sure for every device. Sorry!

Okay... I finally got the "chroma key" icon to appear. First, I added a background (blue) then clicked on "Layer" and added a video and just like that, the "chroma key" icon appeared. I didnt follow the video from Kinemaster cause when I tried it by following the video, I could not find the Chroma icon. But after trying it again and again and again, I realized the icon would not appear unless i clicked on the video I added as a layer. If you touch the video you add as a layer, it should appear, in your options menu, if your phone is compatible.

Yes, it's compatible with all iOS devices that have KineMaster. All new iPads will have this.
