I bought a packet of thin cotton gloves to use when I'm handling the infusible ink paper. I wanted to make sure my hands were not coming in contact with the paper and possibly dulling any part of it. With the cost of the infusible ink not being inexpensive, it's worth it to take that extra step to protect it. Thanks for the tip. I have several cotton ball caps I didn't trust HTV alone to hold up on.

When doing a t-shirt or bag or anything that is double thickness you need a paper between layers or you could end up with your print going all the way through to the other layer. Yes it will print on to cotton. It will fade out over time if printed straight on cotton.

Great question. This is a great way to have a design added, or if you have a sublimation printer, you can add a personal photo. If you wanted an over all design with vinyl you would have to do a lot if layers, which is not recommended. I hope that was helpful.

Hi Barbara. If you do decide to start making stuff with your cricut to sell be sure to do a lot of research what other people are selling (in your area or etsy) wherever you decide to sell. I started my business just over a year ago. I thought I did my research but once I launched I noticed a lot of other business selling similar products as me lol. So I had to quickly adapt and come up with unique designs to stand out.

You need the high polyester count for the infusible in order for the chemical reaction to take place. So , no regular white vinyl would not work. Hope this helps.

Using white HTV will not work. Infusible ink needs a polyester coating to infuse to. Glitter vinyl has the polyester coating that is needed for the infusible ink. Thank you for watching!

You could make a stencil and use fabric paint. I would recommend doing multiple thin coats. It may not result in absolute smoothness, but I believe that would get you the closest results.

Sorry if this was already ask or I missed in the video, but does the glitter pull thru the ink? Making a shirt for my son and he definitely wouldn't like a glitter look. Also curious what's your POV since you have to use the glitter htv first before infusible ink transfer for cotton, why not just use all htv at that point? What's the advantage? Thanks in advance and appreciate the videos!!!
@crafterssupport Жыл бұрын
These are all really great questions. The glitter is visible. You could use glow in the dark vinyl and sublimate/infusible ink over it. The reason some use a sublimateable base is if they want to sublimate on a cotton shirt. For instance, if you want a sublimated photo on a cotton shirt you need a high polyester count base to sublimate on. Sublimation/infusible ink is great for patterns and specific pictures you want on a project. If you just want to make a design ,yes, vinyl would be perfect. I hope this helps. If you have any more questions please reach out. Thank you so much for watching!

Could we infuse the glitter vinyl before we cut it, then apply to the material just once?
@crafterssupport2 жыл бұрын
No, the heat and pressure needed to apply the Infusible ink would cause the htv to adhere to whatever you were pressing it on. Because you would need to remove the carrier sheet it's attached to. Does that make sense? I hope I explained that clearly.

Great question. Infusible ink will only infuse onto items with a high polyester count. Since the material here is 100% cotton we had to put the glitter vinyl down (glitter vinyl has a high polyester count) The Infusible ink will infuse onto the glitter vinyl. I hope that makes sense. A lot of people do not like the feel of polyester, but want to be able to use sublimation/infusible ink. So this is an alternative. Thank you so much for watching!
