This is how all tutorials on KZbin should be. Clear, easy to understand, without being condescending. Perfectly done. Subbed and hit the bell - really looking foward to more as I just switched to Resolve away from Premiere.

I know in terms of KZbin, this is an old video. But I just got to say, I really admire and appreciate your level of expertise and confidence in DaVinci Resolve. I had to migrate away from MacOS and come from FCPX and was fairly proficient with that software. I have tried Resolve in the past, just to see what it was about, and now I am using it full time. I feel lost most of the time, especially in the color grading, using nodes. But watching your videos, I have come a long way in a short time and I truly do appreciate your content and the willingness to do it " for free " in this setting. Keep up the great work.

At 1:56 you state once you have created your project you can not change the frame rate. Someone out there found a really neat hack to get around that. Steps 1) Backup your project. 2) Ensure ALL timelines are unlocked. 2) Select all elements on your timeline. EVERYTHING. (CTRL-A) then delete key 3) Now delete all the Media you have in the library. You basically have an empty project now. 4) Now change your frame rate in the project settings. 5) Press CTRL-Z to undo the delete of the media. 6) Press CTRL-Z again to undo the delete of the timeline objects. Done. Your project is restored to the way it was before you did the two delete all steps and now with newly set project level frame rate. Silly this has to be the process... But it works. Radian
@JayAreTV6 жыл бұрын
To the untrained eye this seems like it works. You are only adding problems into the equation. Keyframes are connected to frame numbers and not time code like other software on the market.
@Radian3276 жыл бұрын
Thank you for this information. My projects have been "simpler" then I'm sure you work on. As such I have not encountered this issue. Obviously the best practice is to set it right up front.

Hello you can tell me why my soundtrack is not moved in the timeline (link clips is activated). For example, if I move an image clip up a track from v1 to v2 then the sound from the clip to A1 stays with me and does not switch to A2. So sound just doesn't run into the lower track. Something I must have adjusted... just what?

Thanks for this series, learning a lot. How do you manage databases and projects in the real world? You can’t save project files with your footage (and other assets like AE, PSDs, scripts etc) - right? So there’s no single source of project truth. You can’t move, backup, version control or archive a full project as a whole without extra steps to export/import/archive the Resolve parts. And then you end up with duplicates (one version in Resolve, one in the OS) to manage which is confusing. Do you make a database for each job and save that into a project folder and if so, are lots of small databases painful? What do you do? Any pointers on how to integrate Resolve with a wider project (other apps) or make Resolve projects OS-compatible would be much appreciated! Cheers.

Hi Jayare, I have a question about special render settings for unusual sizes and resizing! I pumped up my preferred iMac work resolution to 6400 x 3600 pix and recording several videos via ScreenFlow. They have a big file size too. My QUESTION: - How to setup the project and deliver settings for 1080, 1440 or 2160 H.264/H.265 to upload to youtube, so that the quality is pretty good and file sizes are as small as possible. My tutorial videos are about Photoshop image processing, and needs to be a good 1to1 Quality. (you know, if you can't read the values I'm clicking in the video the quality is poor) - Also what are the best settings to scale my work resolution of 6400 x 3600 pix to the youtube size without any loss of details. Usually I end up with 1-2 Gig's of shabby quality. But I want to reduce the files as good as it's possible and keep the quality as best as it can be. I know that are many questions, at least for me, juggling with all the settings. Thanks in advance PS: Thanks for all your tutorials. They almost all hit the spot of my questions I run into. :-)

Amazingly done video. But i have a problem and hope you can help me. I just downloaded the latest version of da Vinci resolve and for some reason my interface looks totally different than yours. On the bottom of the color grading videos you have 3 windows you can adjust. The bottom left is for camera raw, color match, color weels and so on, the bottom middle for curves and so on and the bottom right for keyframes and scopes. For some reason I only have 2 windows on the bottom which i can adjust and generally my whole interfaces looks different. I hope you can help me because with this problem its not possible for me to follow your tips. Best regards

Thanks Jayare. I have a quick question. Say I import 4k footage onto a 1080 timeline with this setting "project settings=>image=>scaling=>mismatched resolution files=>Scale Entire Image to fit". If I then zoom into a clip on the timeline (using Transform), does Resolve go back to the original 4k footage for the transform, or does it use the footage on timeline ? If it uses the footage on the timeline, there will be a loss of quality because it is scaling an already scaled image.

Work with a standard profile to start. Things can get messy and unusable quick if you don't know all of the tools.
