Not sure if this is a newer setup or older setup. But the box I got has tweezers in it to slightly pull the tab while applying the applicator to the base of the tag. The setup I got makes it impossible to use along (single handed) in certain locations (like under the arm). What is in the video would allow this. I'm hoping this video is a newer setup.

For the ones around my eye I tie them up with dental floss. Cuts off the blood flow. Takes a couple days but they fall off
