I find that generating different takes of rhe audio and then combining the best parts together works great. You can do this in an audio editor and then import into your video editor. Also, to stop the audio sounding a little dead or clinical at times, i add a very very faint anount of reverb, to give a more natural flow to the sound (almost like it was recorded in an actual room). Also, you can add a very faint atmosphere track behind it, such as office noise or street sounds to add to the realistic effect. Just keep it low and it will sound natural. You can do pretty much anything with Eleven Labs in my opinion

I am a heavy user and mostly really like the tool. What I miss the most is a broader set of tags that help to direct voices in terms of inflections, pauses, emotions, breathing etc.. your book style does work sometimes but often enough not. I‘m currently struggling on a staged debate of three voice characters (podcast scenario), and it’s hard to get somewhere without blasting tons of credits for endless try-and-error generatios. Voice-to-voice isn’t a shortcut either as the ai voice adaptation lacks overriding any foreign english accent (I‘m German) with the respective voice characters accent - eg German accent English audio file transformed into British English model doesn’t work. The ai takes in my shabby German accent 😂

ok i discovered something for extended pauses. try to mimic this - - - . - - - pettern: "hi, im cheesed to meet you! --- --- --- . --- --- --- . --- --- --- really! i am!" you will see it takes a long pause between the first sentence and the second! or do this: hi, im cheesed to meet you! really! i am!

The problem with eleven labs is that you may have to regenerate your voiceover several times to get what you want, and you're charged each time. They should charge by download instead, then I would go back to them.

I wish ElevenLabs had an option to change emotion in the voices. I know you can type them in the text like "Happy" I am so happy! But that uses characters and many times it does not work. And some voices sound more monotoned than others. Hopefully someday they will update this.

But a strong accent will affect the outcome as it'll pick up on cadence, tone, inflections, etc... For speech-to-speech, getting someone else to record the input for you might be easier if you can't get the results you're looking for with your own voice.

I tried three different tools today, and ElevenLabs impressed me the most. At first I was put off I needed to give CC info just to test the Voice Cloning of myself. Then I thought, "Eh it's only a buck". I found in my three minute presentation, my AIversionof myself seemed to lose interest in the topic as it got to the end of the copy.
