I think it's great that Evernote is taking their app and making it more of an all-in-one solution rather than it's simple note-taking capabilities

Could be. Let's see where they go with this.

I enjoyed your view of tasks. I started using it to keep "Work on Project X" in my Todoist, but then the actual tasks associated with the project in Evernote. That way when my project time block comes up I can go to "By Due Date", filter to my project notebook, and see what tasks need done with that project or knock out as many as I can.

That sounds a good way to use this, Matt.

2+8 and the 10 (maybe 30) mins of 'tomorrow' planning are key. Just wish EN was a little more 'capable' to have things roll over - like your example of the ABC deck, is "in" 24th daily note - and doesn't reoccur when the 30th daily note... but that is what the planning session is for... Adding tasks for over a week plus, then adding into the "task" section without a note/daily note, works well. .. and a great newsletter.

Can I ask, why do you use an additional task manager? And, with having a separate task manager, how to you tell you've covered all the tasks needed while looking at your project notes? Does your task manager include the project notes? Seems having them separated is a bit mad. :-)

My task manager is my hub. It tells me what I need to work on that day without being distracted with all the projects I have ongoing.

I love the task function. When I click on the task option it is very helpful that the tasks all appear by due date order. But that is not the case on the Task widget in the Home view. Is there any way to have the same task date due order on the tasks widget? That would be very helpful for me.

Hi Victor, that might just be a bug in the Evernote system. I would expect a fix soon.

If they (Evernote) add repeating tasks I may make the move from todoist. .

But at least when you complete a task it doesn’t cease to exist like it doesn’t Todoist, right?
@73cidalia2 жыл бұрын
@@livewellleadwell Tasks in Todoist don’t cease to exist when you complete them. Just toggle the “Show Completed Tasks” / “Hide Completed Tasks” to see or hide them. It’s actually cleaner than dealing with Evernote’s never-ending lists of tasks that have to be deleted or archived to clean up the view.

I like the Daily Note. Do you recommend placing it in a folder or just tag it DailyNote, Weekly Review, etc?

I find having a dedicated notebook for these works best, Chuck.

You were right in regard to your reply to me a few months ago. Do you know if there are any plans afoot that would enable the Evernote Tasks to post to Google Calendar?
@Carl_Pullein2 жыл бұрын
Not sure about that, Victor. Tasks are different from events. Tasks can be done anytime throughout the day. Events need to be done at a specific time on a given day.
@victorlloyd52712 жыл бұрын
@@Carl_Pullein Well, Evernote did design the Task function allowing the user to enter due dates and reminder times. I have been using tasks extensively to serve as a work calendar for me. It is very convenient for me to have the sidebar open up for me with all my tasks displayed in chronological order. But it would be useful to have those same items available to me on my Google Calendar.

I really don't understand why I couldn't just use the Task feature to manage my tasks - not just my priorities. Well, I do understand that I CAN use it that way. I could have a Note that is my main task list. I could have other tasks in other notes. I can see them all together in Tasks. I get it that you need a more complex task management system. I just want a place to keep my running list of stuff that I need to get done and a way to sort it by due date

Tasks are available on the latest version of Evernote 10. They have been for a while now. Have you tried seeing if you have these tools via the web version of Evernote?

I know that. But Evernote keeps asking me to upgrade when I'm already a Personal subscriber. And I can't beven ask anybody from Evernote. Their Help is not working.

@@fernandovaldivia8334 Hi Fernando, could you check that you have tasks when you use the web version? I would also check you are logged in to the correct account. You can also check which type of Evernote account you have by checking your account details (where your user name is) That should be saying you are “Personal Account” user.

I really want Evernote to be my one stop productivity app (notes and tasks) but it has become a bit unreliable with syncing lately.
@Carl_Pullein2 жыл бұрын
You may have a point there. This is why I prefer to use dedicated a task manager. The developers know the need to swift sync in these apps. Notes apps generally don't need to be so fast.

How? The answer is no you don't Take your task to another app. Evernote is shit on that part.
