How to use eye lift tape to help with hooded eyes
Todays film is a little different. I'm exploring eye lift tape. Recommended to me by a girlfriend as she knows how much my sleepy eye bothers me. So here it is.......I'll demonstrate how to use it, give my opinion on them and show you a before and after. Have you used eye lift tape? Would love to know yourr thoughts.

Makeup artist here. You will get far better results with lid tapes if you tilt your head back, find where the lid naturally folds and capture that fold underneath the tape, rather than placing the tape where you wish your crease was or at the crease area. This is how they are meant to be applied. I find the water-based glue ones that come with a spray bottle are the best because they can be applied after eyeshadow and are virtually invisible.

Hey ..guy here...lol.. So my mother has 1 eye that is veryyyy droopy... She can have a reallly expensive surgery or try something like this? So here I am trying to help her even though I haven't the slightest clue. Can she wear any makeup with these? She barely wears any at all. Lids by design..i looked on amazon.. a lot of reviews say they are visible.. Do you have a brand to suggest? I'm so deprssed nowing how sad she is.. Thanks in advance

You are so sweet to try to help your mom! Did she try this method? You can put makeup over them. I have one very hooded, droopy eye too and I bought a micro current/nano current devive that is helping. It's expensive (for me) but drastically less expensive than surgery. If her eyelid affects her vision, insurance will pay for surgery. I wish her and you the best! ​@visionquest414

When I was 30 - 25 years ago, I had a TBI, my left eye drops more than my right eye because my left side was the paralyzed side.

Thank you Caroline. I ordered some. I'm 56, eyes not too bad but I do get creasing with my eyeshadow even with primer. I've had a couple of try outs with these and I can't believe the difference. I look refreshed and definitely lifted. And my eyeshadow doesn't crease now either. I used the thinner curved version.

Thank you so much for doing this!! I’ve been messing around with these little tapes over a couple of years after seeing them on a social media ad but am always afraid to wear them out in case they lift or move and was never sure whether to apply under or on top of eyeshadow. Couldn’t quite get right and left them in my make up drawer despite having a really heavily hooded eye! Just thinking of more dramatic cures and here you are with my solution ! ❤

Best advice was from you on here ref hooded eyes a while ago. Clean fresh lid with a wash of something champagne like, followed by a great mascara. Been brilliant for me. I’m now 57 and find less is more. Keep it simple is my motto. I’ve loved seeing you use these as have pondered over them for a while. Would they be ok with a cream eyeshadow on top? I've always been curious about these, my eyes aren't really hooded but I've always felt that they didn't go together with eyeshadow at all! They look amazing on you so much more awake and fresh ❤

I’d ordered these before the end of your film! Genius!! I have one very hooded eye and am so self-conscious about it. So much so, that I’d consider surgery (if I were braver/richer!). This could be the solution. I’d consider it part of my daily routine, like putting in my contact lenses. Amazing how something so simple could be so effective! And as you say, why not?! I’m glad you put eyeshadow on to because I was probably the biggest hold up for me - wondering if eyeshadows would work over the tape. They’re not expensive. I’m thrilled you did this i bought tapes about two years ago and keep trying them . I can do my good eye really well but struggle with placement on my worst eye which has a hood with a bit of a bulge.

No hood just tried again and wherever I put them my lid is so fine and saggy it just goes back under the tape and the tape is then bulging over my lid. Either my kids are beyond help or I just don’t have the knack.

omg this was so common back in the 80s when i was in secondary school ! i never understood why the other girls disliked single eyelids so much so they resorted to wearing these tapes *everyday*. but it’s true, eye tape has been common in asia forever - i’m in singapore but i’ve also come across some korean or japanese videos referencing their use as a standard practice depending on the makeup look they are going for. tape is almost like a tool such as eyelash curler - there will be a change in the resulting look but it remains an optional step. however, i didn’t realise their effectiveness in dealing with hooded eyes which has become more of a struggle in the last few years with age. i can no longer wear eyeliner because it will smudge from getting caught in the folds, and also because the lines are no longer visible under the hoods. sometimes i do still wear eyeliner or eyeshadow close to the lashline coated with duraline if i’m not doing a simple wash or a cream shadow. this is a great video for me to experiment with tape ! thanks for showing how easy it is to use too ! 💗

I'm sooo glad I found this!! I have a clear tape lid lifting product and you can not use eyeshadow with it. I mean, you can, but since it's a clear tape and not the mesh tape (like you've used) the shadow doesn't truly conceal the lid tape. Which btw, I'm now obsessed with lid tape and my daughter bought me the one I have for Christmas. Since I really like the results but want to use eyeshadow, and have seen your video, I'm ordering this type of type. Thank so much!! Also, can you tell me what mascara you're using? Your lashes look fabulous!!

I have extremely hooded lids. My left lid overhangs my pupil and I look permanently angry even though I'm not an angry person at all. I have tried eyelift tape and just couldn't get the hang of it. After watching you apply them, I'm away off upstairs to grab them and try them again. I absolutely wasn't putting it in the right place. Thanks for this Caroline. I'll let ya know how I get on.

I use eyelid tapes but usually just on my right eye because it is way more hooded and droopy than the left. As time has passed, I’ve switched to a larger type and it works magnificently! Evens out my eyes and gives a beautiful lift. I get mine on Amazon for really cheap and the little kit contains three sizes…they’re clear and stay on perfectly but you have to start with squeaky clean lids and then I top with my eye makeup as usual. Won’t go without them now.
