I have had those things for years never knew what they were used for , haha nice one now I can use them for the heater box I'm making on the rear cab for the animals, it will no doubt expand and contract a lot ,smashing stuff thanks for the tip 👌😀

@@SoatMon yes I remember back in around 2001 I came across them at auction in a bits mix pack I'm a boilermaker by trade and fab up all types of trailers as well, I used them for alignment of steel sheets on some jobs to cut down on distortion along the seem before welding by spot welding in both holes to hold them together , then strong backs were put in between them so the seem could be welded without blow through messing it up , I have a new use for them now thanks to you much appreciated 😀

Thank you for the link to the Figure 8's . I couldn't find them and was taking old roller chain apart for the part. But it didn't have the nice countersink and they are hard to machine. Thanks again.

I have never seen these. In the past I cut a slot in the frame and screw a tab to the table top that fits into the slot.

I've done those myself in the past. To me these are easier.

I need to repair my mom's old tv cabinet, but it has some hardware on it that you don't see every day. To open the cabinet, the face of it folds down like a little table top. The hardware that allows it to do that uses a clever braking system to slow it's descent. There are small knobs on the left and right arms that you can tighten or loosen up which press on special washers that cause friction on the slotted arms. Can anyone tell me what those devices are called? One side went missing when she moved.
