The moulds are beautiful and the Modeling Material has a nice color and feels silky. But it has not worked that well for me... I have a hard time getting it out of the mould without destroing them, especally the thinner once. And when they dry they bend like crazy and and break apart beacuse of the big cracks. Do anyone know what I could do about this, any tips? :-)

Hi Julia - 1) Lightly dust your mold with a brush & cornstarch to help release the clay. 2) The cracking could be the brand of clay you are using. Try some different brands of air dry clay or baking clay. There are reviews on YT and I have seen some people say they like Creative Paperclay for Modeling Compound, 16-Ounce, White. I have tried this brand and like it, but have not yet tried other brands, but will sometime later. Some said they didn't like the Prima/Finabar brand that much for various reasons, but their molds are great. 3) Leave your clay in the mold over night or longer to completely dry and that will help with your molds not bending or curling when they dry. 4) If you want to shape your mold to an object such as a glass or something curved, then pop it out of the mold right away and glue to your object. It will air dry in that shape of your object, then you can paint it. You can also use resin in the molds and that is a lot of fun too. I'm pretty new to this myself. I have seen great tips from Heather Tracy at Thicketworks on YT when working with clay. She shows amazing techniques on working with the molds and painting them in a very antique rustic look. Check out her channel. Hope these answers helps you :)

Dear Julia, I agree with what Emm said to try and I have a couple of tips for you as well. I use DAS Air Dry Clay, which is much better quality than the clay sold by Prima, or you can use the Air Dry Clay by IOD which is very good and costs about $10.00 American dollars. Always brush your moulds with cornstarch or corn flour (we call it corn flour here in Australia, but it's the same thing.) Also, when using Air Dry Clay, keep your hands slightly wet so that the clay doesn't stick to them, and roll it or press it into roughly the same shape as the mould you're using. Press the clay firmly into the mould so it can pick up all the details of the mould, then turn the mould over so that the moulding is underneath and it will fall out of the mould almost by itself if you bend the mould up and letting the clay moulding fall out onto your craft surface. If it doesn't fall out, you can ease it out by using your finger or a small knife to ease it out of the mould, and once the first part is out then the rest will come out too. Be careful not to touch the moulding too much on the detailed side. To glue the moulding in place put the moulding in your hand so that the flat side is facing up and apply wood glue over the flat side, before sticking the moulding to your surface. The best thing to do is to practise making mouldings and gluing them onto a piece of wood or cardboard that you've painted. Once the mouldings are dry you'll find that they've shrunk a bit, but this is a good thing because it shows up the details better. Good luck.

I just received my clay but it doesn’t seem to be like what I see in the video. I noticed the lid wasn’t on completely when I opened up the box it was shipped in, but the wrapping was all still intact. The clay is dry and crumbly , not anything like what it looks like in this video. I
