I've been working on the same project for almost a month after seeing an Instagram reel from an artist. She uses tacky spray for a gold leaf stencil. Well, I am so thankful that when I just about gave up and used paint that still looks messy, I found your page. I will be going to buy that sponge, and returned Aleens's tacky spray that comes out like silly string. I can't keep painting this piece of furniture over to cover mistakes, so thank you

I was just watching ur Facebook live video= Q & A on 11/2/21- How to use foil & adhesives. Well into the video when she was using the iridescent foil to make the butter knife shimmer around the time (21:21/54:26) after she lifted the foil and then put it back on to make it opaque if u look real close at the top right corner of the foil, there is a face two eye's and a nose. It's super freaky and I played it back a few times to make sure I wasn't seeing things but still there. It's kinda neat and since I am a spiritual being, maybe it was something of that nature trying to communicate with one of the ladies. I just wanted to share that with u all. I am just getting into foiling and absolutely loved everything about this video! I have learned and continue to learn every week with your wonderful videos! Thank you! I have to ask about the adorable tree behind Patty. It is to the bottom left of the Gingerbread sign. Do you or did you sell them? I may have missed them and if so, I apologize.

We've actually had a lot of questions about that recently. We do not seal ours. But we also don't sell our projects, or care if they get beat up in the storage process. So depending on what you are going to do with it will determine how much care you want to take for it. Most of the varnish we use after we finish our projects is matte. And when you use that on top of foil, it dulls it. You can use it over the foil, or you could paint your basecoat, varnish, then foil over top and not seal.

@@StudioR12Stencils so I'm refinishing a dresser that I painted with chalk paint and trying to spruce it up. I've got all my stuff ready to go this evening and after so many failed attempts I'm going to follow your advice. Since it's a dresser it will be used and I'm concerned with it coming off I did read that you can go over it with the Wax that you go over the chalk paint with. I also bought two different types of foil sealant so I can use that to be safe!!

We used the Aleene's foiling glue - but the foiling gel will work too!!

the tacky glue, how long do you let it dry and how long will it stay tacky

Hi Terry! It will be ready to use when it is clear, rather than white. It will stick to your hand, without leaving residue. It will stay tacky until you wash it off.
