Knuckle Claws can provide better driver combo opportunities, she actually has a field skill, and better battle utility. Plus, while her quest does take some time, it can be completed much earlier than Godfrey’s. I see more use out of her than him.

@@Zach984racer ohh, I always make mistakes with those two. Ursula for healing is not bad but for me I don't feel she can deal with tough monsters like Perun or Theory can do. I prefer more offensive blades unless it's a war of attrition like with Carlos.

It’s probably better to kill faster (especially if the enemy has an OHKO attack) unless you are farming item drops and are just trying to smash as much as possible and build up a full burst.

Here’s a fun fact for you: Three blades in this game; Perun, Godfrey, and Perceval, are super invested in Justice and things just, but have really different ideologies on how justice should be delivered. They all have some of the longest blade quests (beaten only by Ursula and get new groove) Anyway, the dlc introduced a quest that involves all three of them working together to help someone get justice (the quest is called Cleared of All Charges, it’s given on Fonsett Island) Basically, Perceval calls Perun a masochist and tells Godfrey that he’s full of himself, lol

"Two of his skills don't synergize" I disagree. He gets more damage reduction at or below 30%, and also auto heals up to 30% health, after which it stops. This means he'll always be hovering at or below 30%, which makes him more resilient in the process. Although why you would use this strat if you could just...heal to full and then take more hits that way, I don't know.

Sounds like they were going for ch9 fights. Godfrey is one that gets slapped on by default. With good blade swapping management, you shouldn't need to swap anyone out the game gives you.

Godfrey is only holding back so the player actually has to try a bit at the very least. If he would use his true power, he could just infintely spam some really broken moves, hence the player might not learn the combat system too well in their first playthrough as they would just mindlessly spam one button. And we wouldn't want that now, would we?

If I could fix one thing about Godfrey, it would be taking all of his Unique Skills and condense them into 1 skill so he would actually have 2 skills that actually give him a reason to be carried in the field.

PLEASE The non-existence of practical Field Skills is why you never want Godrey in the early game, he's an enormous waste of a pity Blade! His Battle Skills are okay early game, you lack good healing anyways at that point so they procc more often. Still better off with Peceval, Gorg or Boreas if you want a beefy early game, and even Azami for play at low %'s.

The toughest enemy on normal mood isn’t challenge mood Ken, or even Carlos, it’s definitely the Nameless Sentinel at the end of the KOS-MOS + Adenine DLC quest (the quest is called Mystery Launch codes and is one of my favourite quests lore-wise because only Adenine would care about KOS-MOS’ “strange understanding” and ability to override the World Tree) Also, real funny, it’s canonical that KOS-MOS was annoyed by the end of the quest

That’s like comparing most Ice-types in the mainline Pokémon games to Rampardos. You have the type that is the absolute worst versus a Pokémon that has bad design decisions so that it would need to be overhauled. Even the worst Ice-type can try for a freeze. You can’t hit with Rampardos, or to be more accurate you can only hit once with Rampardos.

I remember playing this game on day 1 and pulling Godfrey as my first rare, and then seeing his field skills, and assuming all rare Blades had field skills that only work with their quests, then being furious that it seemed like the only way to activate high-level field things was with tons of commons. Field skills still slurp diarrhea with a straw even with fully equipped rares, but I'm glad rares usually have real field skills.

thinking about the elma strat shown, what if iron wall and its variants locked agro onto the user for the duration the shield is up? It wont fix tanks as a whole, but it does give shield hammers some utility that might be able to save the weapon class which is otherwise unusable without bending over backwards to make them do their job...

My thought has been that shield hammers rely on other blades to pull the aggro, then you switch over to them for safety until the aggro runs out, but they're ultimately more useful for getting rid of aggro than holding on to it...

Godfrey is the giant middle finger Monolith Soft blessed us with in the hellscape that is the Gacha! Luckily, he was one of the first blades I got, so I didn't have to set myself up for disappointment later on. But yet again, the last 2 blades I needed to unlock to complete my collection were Electra and Kos-Mos, so I was definitely wasn't spared from the torture!
