Great Grey Wash explanation. It was simple and straightforward. Good argument on why use a wash. There is a time and place for different variations of grey colors. There is also a proper use of grey-wash as applied to different colors of skin.

Thank you! I've never heard this explained this deep. Now shit is starting to make sense on greywash I've practiced on my legs. I'm getting ready to do a few years in federal prison & figured I'd get a head start with black & grey work. I'll have plenty of time to practice.. even if it takes a year to get a homemade machine together- I can practice on a daily basis with pencil & paper until then!

Pushing white in a uniform manner while difficult is far from impossible. Though the best way ive found is tedious at best just using #1203RL/LT and do the absolute smallest concentric circles you can. I do first layer without puncturing the correct depth to get a "primer" down then I go like normal. It can take forever but it works and works well.

Heard somewhere that if you’re tattooing. On a white skin you need 5 cups from ur solid black to ur lightest gray wash , while on a dark skin you need only 3 cups from your solid black to lightest gray wash. Is that accurate sir ?

No, it is just personal preference, it depends on how much you wish to divide the blacks into shades

It wasent that bad but hoped you would go into opaque grey in more detail, it was mainly todo with grey wash… I was wondering can you still get that washed effect with opaque grey, surely if it’s light enough it won’t look like solid colour
@SunnyBhanushali2 жыл бұрын
Thank you, it will always work like solid colour, unless you use it greywash.

How can you get black when fully saturating with lets say 40% dillute ? if you heavily saturate with 40% youll actually get 40% meaning it wont get any darker than 40% ?? if you use black for saturating- you can actually softly make 20, 40, 60%ect all the way black. (ofc stroke and needle depth plays alot).
@SunnyBhanushali4 жыл бұрын
Sander Virki if you take 40% black and add your first pass it would be 40% on skin, and if you again add another pass then it will add up to become the darker black, and if you do multiple passes, you will end up getting 100% black. That’s how greywash works :)

whats your take on a machine that is constant running `` battery pack `` , when dipp for greywash tones . i feel like if the machine is constant on- the needles would mix up every tone in the ink cup very fast if you dip for in between tones `` lets say middle tone grey and a little in the light grey `` would not that light grey become darker and darker over the session ?

You are right, and it does get darker and darker over time, however you get used to it with experience.

@@benjamindains6906 see what you saying but that dont take away that you mix up the tones in your ink cupes alot faster if you have a machine that is running constant . even if you rinse out every time you pick up a new tone you still gonna blend all those greywash tones together in the ink cups faster

That only works on real good white skin, and honestly only handful artists could do it properly, I would only 1% artists can handle neutral grays ans whits on larger tattoos, one of them is definitely Ad Pancho

So question: if you have a 1/4 cap of black; you can build up layers until you get a look that looks like it was done with a full cap black.? The point being that not all shades in tattoos are made with the shade they look but actually multiple passes of a lighter than seen shade of black.?
