Very helpful. I’ve had my torque wrench for years but never used it because 1. I never had the opportunity to. 2. I didn’t know how to use it. This video helped me understand how to use it now and I can’t wait to try it out. A+ tutorial! Thank you!

You are welcome. If you have a vice, you can clamp onto a bolt and give the wrench a few practice runs to get familiar with the feel/click. Try different settings on the tool.

I bought my first torque wrench today from Harbor. I use them at work but never needed one at home so much. Now have an older Jeep..lol...I want to use this for polyurethane bushing calibration. Should be ok?

I'm getting one due to the price. I've always had to just guesstimate how much force to use, based on the 'how-to' videos I watch before working on my truck. I've been lucky so far, but now I will be the Charlie Daniels of the torque wrench. Thanks, Earl

If you search "harbor freight torque wrench coupon", odds are good that you will find the a coupon. If not check the next week again. I think that they sell them at a loss to get you into the store. I've seen several different sources that have tested them for accuracy and they are stand up against other wrenches. My brother's test proves they will last a lifetime most people.

For maximum accuracy you should place the ball of your other hand against the wrench head to lessen side forces.

So if it ever breaks no matter how long I have it , Harbor Freight will give me a new one with the receipt? 😮. I just bought one today. The 1/2 one but I didn’t see a coupon as of today for it. 🤷🏻♂️. Also, my Scion Xb calls for 76 lbs of torque in the manual on the lugs. Set it to 76. Had a very nice satisfying “click”. Seems good for my first use.

Just bought one recently can I use this to remove a stuck spark plug??? I put in 5 new plugs but the last one is tough. I've used my Standord ratchet wrench but no use. Hiw can I use this torque wrench to pull out that last plug also can I use my standard ratchet nuts on this or do I need different nuts??? Anyone help???
@Know-How-Now4 ай бұрын
I wouldn't recommend using the torque wrench past it's rated torque. Use a breaker bar.
@tonymanero55443 ай бұрын
Torque wrench is to tighten only. You want to untighten, but if a ratchet would remove it, try using a piece of paper towel soaked with vinegar to get rid of metal on metal corrosion. You should also use some antiseize compound on the plug threads for removal in the future. Definitely use antiseize on alloy wheels if you rotate tires or swamp summer and winter tires. I’ve seen garage pound out wheels without regard to damaging the wheel in rotating tires; they’re fu cks and don’t care.

I bought one stuck a bolt in my vice and twisted in in half and it never clicked. I’ll try running it up and down then see if it works. Thanks for the video.
@Know-How-Now Жыл бұрын
The click noise can be soft depending on the setting. If I remember correctly, the lower settings are a quieter click.

@@Know-How-Now to me what I've noticed is that the more the bolt fills the socket, the louder the click. The less it fills the deepness of socket the cick is shallow.

so it does slightly cover the bottom of the line, it's confusing, has anyone checked these things with a torque gauge. I notice sometimes it doesn't want to click and I have to go lower, make it click then come back up.
@ThePerfectAdventure2 ай бұрын
Mine must not work because it just caused me to break off an oil drain bolt, never clicked
@Know-How-Now2 ай бұрын
When set on the lower end of the scale the click can be quiet. I suggest putting a bolt in a vice and getting a feel for the wrench if you never have used one. I own all three sizes and try not to use the very low settings on a wrench. I hope this helps.
@dereckc9469 Жыл бұрын
my 3/8 seems to have a very very subtle click or no click at all! I missed the mark on an upper intake plenum twice, cracked two which means I have to salvage a third. the third I plan to just tighten by hand I DO NOT trust this junk it's going back to HF
@Know-How-Now Жыл бұрын
If your setting was on the low side of the wrench's scale, the click is going to be subtle and maybe not accurate if you are using the lower 20% of the range. That would be about 15 on that wrench. You might try a smaller wrench.

The click can be hard to hear on the lower settings. Take it back to Harbor Freight, they will give you another one. My brother used one of these on a job at his machine shop on a job. It worked thousands of times before it broke. Harbor Freight gave him a new one.
