I'm fine with toehooks but have great difficulties making toehooks stick- likely due to a lack of core muscles. Does someone have any training advice for that?

Do boulderers inherently have sweatier hands than wall climbers? I see boulderers constantly coated in chalk. where as people on wall climbs seem to use way less. Maybe that's just me, I'm quite new, been climbing 2 months. :P

EJL2004 They definetely use more chalk! I also noticed myself chalking way less when climbing lead... I think it is because you have to worry about way more than the perfect grip when you lead climb :) Lead climbers need to find good resting positions to chalk up to not use too much energy, while boulderers basically just chalk before every try to ensure the best grip... no energy needed... no skills required... watch good lead climbers and you will see them shaking out and chalking up at the perfect holds at perfect times... that' s really hard and requires a lot of experience :)
