Great instructions thank you so much. I have been doing stained glass the traditional way I preferred that look better , however I have dabbled a little bit lately with Hobby came and it was great to come across this instructional video . Thank you very much for sharing your knowledge. ❤

I think your idea of repurposing a silver handle on an old spoon is really phenomenal to say the least. What a way to bring back those lovely forged items into a pure piece of art. I am so impressed until I watched you make such lovely dragon fly lines today. Thank you so much for sharing and enlightening the stained glass hobbiest, like me, with truly inspirational pieces. :)

I've been doing stained glass for 2 years and until now, wasn't aware hobby came existed, yet have seen pieces finished with it and wondered how they got it to look so perfect. You answered that and have inspired me to give it a try. Thank you! :)

I think that was absolutely inspirational. I loved the use of the old spoons. I will definitely use that technique. Great to see the hobby came in use. I didn't know how to use it but now I do. Tomorrow I will crack on and finish off my piece with hobby came. Thanks so much for sharing. Great stuff!

Watching this I was thinking two things. 1: I'm glad she also showed how to do those veins, because my guess was completely wrong. 2: It is a miracle she isn't burning herself on that soldering iron crossover technique :)

Thank you, that was really helpful. I haven't seen any other instructional videos about hobby came, so I have never tried using it. I always heard it was hard to solder it without wrecking it, but you gave some great tips.

Thank you for all the good info specially to foil the spoon and on the back of the spoon adding wire between wings will help to fill up the gap with solder. I learned to use hobby cane but my problem is, I don't get a nice shiny silver finish, or it doesn't take the black patina well. Could you share how do you do it please? Thank you.

I use nuggets, I foil them and attach to the top. In the video where i show the prepared spoons, i bend over the tops to use as my attachment point for eyes and to attach my hanger.

The top of the spoon neck was bent over, this allows you to tie on your hanger and attach eye nuggets if you wish!

Yes, you solder both sides of all your projects. I have watched Barbara's video 3 times to get it all in, also a newbie.

A cieling tile used in commercial buildings. They are fireproof. Perfect and cheap to solder on!

Cascade doesn't sell to the public, but I buy it from Anything in Stained Glass. I buy by the spool, it lasts me about a year. Ask for ru100-2 Supplies@anythinginstainedglass.com
