There is no alternative for now , currently we are using ipv4 addresses to connect to aws services or for the public IP that we are getting on ipv4. Surely we need to pay a small amount of charge for the ipv4 addresses $0.005 if your using free tier AWS account the you will get 720 hours free ipv4 address. And there are limited services that AWS is providing ipv6 address reachability, I am using ipv4 addresses for a few days on my projects but I haven't occurred any cost for ipv4 right now and also the public IP insights services are not launched yet.. I will make shorts for this to make us clear to understand the charges If you like it please subscribe to this channel I will upload videos every Sunday

If you set up an IPv6 only VPC and subnets then you can have instances without IPv4 addresses. I'm learning this as much as you. But I did find I could configure an EC2 instance with IPv6 only and I could ssh into it. But other AWS services use IPv4 so things like ELB might not work. If you configure only private IPv4 addresses then you might get ELB working. But it won't work with Cloudfront because that has to have a public IPv4 address on the instance. Once AWS services are all IPv6 compliant, including Cloudfront then you'll be able to turn off public IPv4 addresses.

Hey, I've got a question about my AWS Free Tier account. I've been using it for my fullstack test project, but I got hit with charges for VPC and IPv4 usage, even though I thought those were supposed to be free, and still the new regulation say its free for the first 750 hours. My bill for February came to 1500 INR. I used to only pay for Route 53, but now I'm stuck with these extra charges that I can't afford. Do you think it's possible to switch my test project from using IPv4 to IPv6? And if so, how do I go about doing that? I'm pretty new to AWS, so I'm not sure where to start. My setup involves using EC2 for my Java backend, S3 for Angular, RDS for MySQL, and Route 53 for custom domain names. Any help would be appreciated!

Hello, if you occuring charges for the Aws account that means might you have utilized the 750 hours of free tier limit either you can raise the query for support team for those additional charges they will connect on chat, phone and other various options. If you are using that account for education purpose only mostly the will revise the bill accordingly The other thing you can do by creating a separate vpc for ipv6 address only and provide ipv6 address to ec2 instances Other services that you are using such as RDS you can Modify existing instance to support ipv6 ** I will make a short or video that how you can migrate to ipv6 only** You can refer the same video too NOTE: to avoid such situations you can set a budget on aws account that you couldn't occur such heavy charges you will get notified if you hit that limit If you like it make sure to like share and subscribe, this is quite helpful to motivate me for making videos🙂 Need one suggestion should I make AWS basics to advance course??
