This is really helpful and I wish I'd looked for this video sooner... although I did eventually work it out :). One thing I would mention is that you can cut more than one colour at a time, but it depends on the size of your project. When you scan in your mat you can see on the LCD the placement of the pieces and move them into place if you have put down more than one colour of card on the mat.

Thank you for the information, that's really helpful and a great tip for cutting the same colour at the same time! I do something similar with my Cricut too :)

Why are there TWO of some of the designs. Such as 2 cream colored dogs. They look exactly the same to me. Is this many layers on top of each other?
@CraftWithSarah2 жыл бұрын
Yes, as they are designed to be cut from cardstock so it needs to layer up. The first creamy dog has the back legs on it, the second one is just the front legs to give the correct depth perception when it's all stuck together with foam pads.

Actually you can cut several pieces at once using different colors, but then again it depends on the amount and size of figures you want to cut and the size of your mat. For example, let's say that you have the 12X24 mat and you're working with 4 different colors. You can assign a quarter of the mat to each color. So, you'd put all the pieces of one color on the top left corner and so on and so forth for the other three (obviously the figures can't overlap and need to be within the mat's red dotted lines). Then on the mat itself you put the 4 pieces of vinyl, HTV, paper, cardboard or whatever material you want to cut. After scanning the mat then with the provided tools you can move any necessary figure to the right quadrant based on the 4 colors. I hope this makes sense.

How do you delete the layer piece and then rig it back

I'm not quite sure what you mean and I'm afraid I don't have a ScanNCut so I might not be able to help as I've only used the software to make this video :(

Any idea why some layered svgs would cut some layers twice?
@CraftWithSarah2 жыл бұрын
Do you mean my layered SVGs, or are they from other designers? If it's my ones, please email sarah@craftwithsarah.com and let me know which ones you are using and a screenshot of how they are looking in your Canvas software and I'll try to help, but I'm afraid I don't have a ScanNCut so I may be a little limited in the support I can give.

Nice tutorial. Just regarding the size of the imported file, I don’t know for certain but it’s likely that the units in the software you generated the svg is set to inches and the scan n cut software is mm.
