A nice, clear demonstration of the point. You now have our permission to take the dog for a walk.

Good video, i was checking how to compare two queries and tables about some data missing form one to another and other conditions, this i can use it later for the building of the report. i was wondering if your dog was making fun of you on your back: "pffff (blah blah blah, human talking, blah blah) take me to the park!! I will have my revenge on that squirrel!"

hello, fernan. I'm looking for a function that can lookup a date in previous records in a list of events (timestamp/EventID/ON/OFF). I'd like finally to calculate duration of appearance for each events. A little bit complicated for me 😒. Could you tell or show me the trick. It could be interesting for people working on numerical machines. Thanks.

I learn something new everytime. Your videos make too much sense from the first second to the last. Well done! Fernan. Now I'm curious. Did you take some kind of DAX course to know all these functions? Or did you read through the entire DAX docs on Microsoft and try each of them out so you would know when to use what? I feel like I'd rather watching your videos than reading the docs.

Hi Van, thanks for your support and thanks for watching! It helps that I work with Power BI quite a lot in my day job, so typically I have a problem I need to resolve, then I look for any DAX functions that can help. I've not read the entire DAX docs though, I think that would be excessive lol

@@SolutionsAbroad Nice! I wish I could know which functions to look for when I have a problem to solve.

@@vanishedxu You dont need to! Most of the time other people have had the same problems, and I see what functions they use, that's how I typically discover new functions. It gets easier overtime, just have to spend more time with it. Good luck!

Hi Fernan! I absolutely love all of your videos, thank you so much for producing them! Always well explained and very informational. In this case I tried to reproduce both methods with a condition based on a date. I want to build a look up that only returns values after a certain date, but it seems like there is a formating issue. Which format should be the date in? It is actually not the first time I have this kind of issue with dates. [Created Date] >"01.01.2020" is what I tried. There is no error mistake, but everything gets written as null in the column. Do you have any recommandation for IF commands when dates are needed?

Hi, do you mean creating a new lookup column then creating a relationship with another table? If so, then of course you can!
