@@YOGESHKUMAR-ry1fz I think the Unreal devs aren’t finished implementing displacement as a whole, in a future release (surely the final shipping version of UE5) they will have displacement working again. But until then in these preview versions of UE5 we’ll probably have to compromise and do a lot of hacky workarounds.

And I want to paint on its side. What I want to do is one color, but the car is striped with lines, and between every line - the reflection properties are diffrent. Somewhere its more glossy, somewhere its more metallic...Can you please give an advice how to do it? Thank you! :)

Does this not work as well with lower sub divisions because that’s a massive amount of geometry we could be adding to our scenes. What’s the shader complexity look like after you have blended a few layers together. Also how well does this method work with RVT? Sorry to ask loads of questions but as an artist these are the constraints we have to face.
@lonewolf_studio2 жыл бұрын
Of course it works but you have to remember that less geometry means less quality. And for the RVT it is hood with nanites and all to blend together.

Nanite doesn't seem to support vertex painting - the whole thing with nanite is that it removes vertexes based on distance, so having the color data sitting on that would cause flickering (which makes me sad, but there are other ways to accomplish the task with nanite, just gotta look for them and target your searches at nanite-based options).
