just the Regular Lydian. Major scale with the most "evil" note the tritone. Doesn't get more melancholy than that!

My mom was from Fairport, NY, lived on Frank St. I crossed that exact bridge many times growing up while visiting my mom's family. He kept giving clues about where he was from - upstate NY, Erie Canal, lift bridge. I thought, "What are the odds he's from Fairport?" I laughed when he finally said the name of the town. What a small world!

Hey Rick, it would be great if you use your freeze pedal or a looper for such demonstrations to hear your great examples better against the chord or progression. I thought that already during your recent arpeggios video... Did you already made a video on how to incorporate chromatics in pop/rock solos? Greets and keep rocking.

Great lesson Rick! Yeah I grew up in the 70's before the social media and you tube tutorials, but I did have my brother who had been playing guitar long before I picked up the instrument. He showed me the basics and I took it from there. I had to rely on other people who played guitar to learn stuff from and the radio of course. Great story too that you shared!
