Yes, it can help to get more specific down to frequency bands instead of having to alter the whole wave. But as mentioned also needs to be treated with care on every situation the right tool 🛠️

I hope it helped as it's still a topic which is very specific to each sound. There are a million options as we have the four types, the bands, the slopers, and all the other settings like the attack, release, threshold. :) Glad you asked as it's a very interesting topic imho.
