Welcome to Auxhart Gardening! I’m Rachel, a small-scale southern gardener growing near Clemson, SC, zone 7b. I mainly garden in-ground, with containers as secondary production spaces.
Knowing where your food comes from is powerful, and empowering, and I believe we can change the world through gardening education.
The agricultural system is broken; we’ve monocultured nearly every major crop, forcing the use of chemical pesticides and inorganic fertilizers to maintain large-scale food production. I believe there’s a better way.
By teaching people to rely on themselves, even just a little, for their food supply, we might be able to create some breathing room for our strained food system, allowing for change to start happening.
By educating people about where food comes from and how to grow it, we can raise awareness about our broken agricultural system and form a community that understands how to fix it.
By forming a community, we can move toward creating real change in the world.
My goal is to educate; yes you can grow food, yes you can do it without chemicals, yes you can do it in your backyard or on your windowsill. And yes, that can make a difference in the world.

Very interesting. One year I followed a KZbinrs advice too inoculate with rice water and milk. There's a process and a two week wait for it to be ready but my beans loved it. Didn't do it last year and not as many beans 🤔

All plants interact with M-fungi. For beginner gardeners, go to you nearest forest and find a rotting tree stump or log with mushrooms growing on it. Take some of it and some of the healthy soil all around the floor back home to innoculate your garden ;)

News to me about endo being in topsoil! Thank you! Out in west Texas we don’t have the moisture we need without mulching and lots of water. Learning from my daughter (21) and now you as well about homesteading

Great information, I learned about this relationship a few years ago. I’ve seen stuff sold as an inoculation powder, do you know if it’s good?? Or snake oil?

I love mushrooms but I don,t know how to tell the difference between what you can eat and what you can,t eat

It can be difficult to learn how to ID mushrooms, but there are a lot of guides available online if you want to get into it. I also recommend looking for a local club to join, because learning from a real person who knows what to look for can really help.

Hi Rachel, does Rev publish what goes into their liquid formula? I was planning to get a bottle using your link but noticed they do not publish any info on what the liquid contains.

It is a micronized peat from up north. I've asked about the content before and they don't publish it fully because it's variable due to different batches of peat. You can find a breakdown of the general microbial content on their Learn More page though. organicrev.com/pages/long-form-product-detail-page

@@AuxhartGardening Hello Rachel, thank you for taking time to respond. I appreciate you elaborating. I took a look at the site you mentioned and do not believe it is as good as the Holganix Bio 800+ Agriculture I used this past season. I hope you do not mind me saying this. The reason is because it does not appear to have a diversity of microbes as Bio 800+. The President of Holganix is a former Monsanto scientist who is now fully converted to our way of thinking about soil. He just emailed me a lengthy explanation about whether the variety of endo and ecto in a single bottle of Bio800 will compete. KZbin might delete comments with an external link, so I'll post the direct URL to the Bio800+ Agriculture ingredients in another message, but if you'd like to check it out, just Google "holganix bio800+ ingredients". They seem to have an affiliate marketing program too. I heard about it via Elise over in Florida.
