You have absolutely no idea how helpful your videos are. And your voice sounds just perfect and clear really understandable. I've been going through videos all day trying to understand about VOR but these other guys were making it so complicated to understand. Note 📝 it sounds more professional when you sat V.O.R then vorg. Judy giving a constructive critique if you don't mind

Thanks Ray glad the videos help. Yea your right about the VOR thing it was just easier to say and I didn't give it much thought till people started kidding me about it. From now own it will be V.O.R. Blessings, skip

I am a private pilot and I have not been in a plane for a few years. Your video is very good and simple to understand. Thank you. What training software have you used in this video, and does it run on mac?

Thanks WHAT, Glad you liked the video hope it helped and thanks for watching! I use Corel Video Studio Pro 6 (older version by now) to create these videos if that's what you meant? I'm not sure if there is a mac version sorry. X Plane 10 is the simulator I use and X Plane 11 is now out and it runs on windows and mac machines. Blessings, skip

Problem dials too small to read radials or compass headings.

Hi Ruth, Sorry you had trouble reading the dials, hope you were able to figure out the process anyway :-( Thanks for watching :-) Blessings, skip

Thanks for sharing your experience. Is it possible to fly this without autopilot? If yes, how do you know when you pass the VOR? I am flying the default C172 in xplane 9. God bless you too.

Orbit994 Hi Orbitt994, Sure just don't activate the autopilot. Another words set everything up as described in the video but don't hit the "NAV" button, assuming you are flying the Baron 58, could be the "LOC" button in other aircraft. Now you just watch the CDI (course deviation needle) in your active NAV radio. When you see the CDI needle move to the left of center you are drifting to the right, if the needle moves to the right of center you are drifting left. Don't chase the needle, make small corrections steering left or right slightly to keep the needle in the center. Remember it's not critical to keep the needle exactly in the center at all times. When you see you are getting a little of course make smooth easy turns, no need to make sharp turns to get the needle centered, you will just be chasing the needle all day long. The closer you get to the VOR the harder it will be to keep the needle centered, don't worry about that just keep flying towards the VOR. Assuming you have set up NAV1 and NAV2 to the same VOR, (NAV1 for the "TO" course and NAV2 for the "FROM" course) you can switch radios when the CDI needle deflection starts moving fast on NAV1. Watch the "TO" "FROM" arrow when the "TO" arrow flips to "FROM" on NAV1 you know you have crossed over or passed the VOR. With VFR flights you don't have to stay on a strict course. You know where you are going so you can switch to the next VOR anytime it's in range. So if you have set up NAV2 for the next VOR, and have set the correct radial to that VOR, when it goes "active", you see the "TO" arrow and the CDI needle is active you can switch to NAV2 and continue you flight with NAV2. Again, this is a VFR (visual flight rules) flight the NAV radios are just to help you get to where you want to go don't stress over being off a degree or two just work you way back slowly and enjoy the flight. So give it a try and let me know how it goes or if you have any other questions. Question, why are you still using X Plane 9? Blessings, skip

WEH Videos Hi Orbit994, So sorry I left one simple thing out. On the autopilot ON OFF AUTO switch just leave it in the ON position, don't switch to AUTO, don't know how I missed that :-) Skip

Is there a way to switch between nav 1 and nav 2 in xplane 11 stock Cessna? I see that it has two radios a 530 and aI think a 430 but cant figure out how to switch the radios? Thanks Skip...
@WEHVideos7 жыл бұрын
Hi Antmf, Well I did some research on this as I do not fly that airplane. As far as I can tell there is no way to switch. The NAV/GPS switch only switches between NAV1 and GPS both which are tied to the G530. Seems strange to me to have such an expensive instrument such as the G430 that you can not use to navigate. This is true with some airplanes with two NAV radios but only NAV1 can be used for navigation the other just for reference. Sorry but that's my best guess, could not find anything online that addresses the question directly. Blessings, skip
