I'm just in the middle of building my first render node and moving from a workstation to a 2 computer setup, I'm wondering... Is it possible to farm out Phoenix FD or tyflow sims to be calculated on the server whilst I carry on working on my main rig? Some of my sims take a long time to calculate before I even get to the rendering stage, awesome video, I'm sure I'll be back here when everything is set up

Have a network drive on the main station for the textures and assigned that mapped drive to the stations. Have and output drive shared also and mapped to the other stations. I started the manager with the default ports, and the servers I also only put the station name in and they were found automatically in the job window. I think it is the linksys router not talking UDP but I have no idea why it does not load the bachburner plugin. When I start the servers, it reports that the plugin has been loaded but then in the render task window it does not show up.. I need some help. In the forums off Autodesk is nothing to be found.

The distributed rendering works, but there are chromatic differences between the buckets rendered by the workstation and those rendered by the second PC and some problems with v-ray FUR. The two PCs have the same version of the software used and I have activated the transfer missing asset function. I have seen that it is a widespread problem, but I have not been able to solve it. Maybe you have to give permissions for max to use all cores... Are that PCs use all cores in render separately? Sorry, don't know the answer.

Have 2014 installed on all 4 computers Max Design. On the main machine it does a network render No problem but all the other machines it says no plugin installed. I have a new Linksys router and that finds all the machines and also manager finds all the machines using IPv6 instead of IPv4. Its a new linksys thing to connect v6 likely using TCP and not UDP. So when all computers show up in the manager and in the Monitor but all the 3 stations say no plugin available and when it find them in the render jpb window it does not show that the plugin is loaded. Only the main machine has it loaded. Whats wrong with that, can you help?

Didn't know about this problem, unfortunately. Server window tells you No plugin? What tells manager about all server? Are they ready in monitor? Is there render the same on all PC? I mean arnold, v-ray, corona or what do you use. There must be exactly the same max versions and render versions

@@ArgentFish Thanks, I noticed that. I installed Version 2014 on windows 7 and windows 10. Windows 10 does not work, because its plugin is already different. How stupid is that, no downward compatibility at all. Too much work to maintain a rendering farm. All the best

I think it's really complicate to do. I'm just a guy that work at home. Probably backburner can do it, but need to be settuped properly. I'm have no knoledges in this area, but I think that must static IP and proper ports.

is it different from gpu server render? like u have a server with 10 gpu can't you use that gpu's to do that render? you realy need 4 or more computer?? to do it exactly the same as the video show?

You can setup your render preset for gpu and it works the same in spawner or in backburner

If the manager is active, the servers will automaticaly will fiind the manager. But all they must be in the same network.
