Awesome video. The 'open props' are great for small projects. I am excited about the next part. Thanks! for making this series. This series is added to my favorites :)

@Neon Tuts, part 2 is up, btw. Somehow I published it last night accidentally, so it’s out of order in the timeline 😑

@@neontuts5637 awesome! I'm thinking I'll live stream here again in two weeks. This time with both audio channels, an announcement, and a little more prep 😉. I was thinking of just picking up another adventofCSS/JS challenge, but I figured I'd ask what you think of that since you've seen literally everything I've done lol. Would you be interested in seeing me work through another live challenge like that?

@@CodinginPublic Yes, I like to watch you solve the adventofCSS/JS challenge. I missed the last live stream but this time I will be on time. You may also check the CSS Battle challenges. They are fun to solve :)

I know this video is super old but because I know you are an Astro person I would love to see Notion as a cms for an Astro site.

May I know if there are content inside the page, can it be rendered out as well?
@CodinginPublic Жыл бұрын
Inside of a Notion page? They've changed the API since I did this series, so I don't know the answer right now if that's what you’re asking :)

my question is how is the pricing compare to other options
@CodinginPublic Жыл бұрын
Pricing for Notion vs. other CMS? You'd have to check their pricing page, but I've never paid for Notion. I would probably only use Notion as a CMS for very limited data point honestly. And today, I think I'd tend to reach for an actual CMS instead since it's meant for this kind of thing.

I was wondering about something technical as a non-technical person, and I was wondering if anyone could help. I found this video because I have a decently large Notion database of text and image files that I want to start showing to clients in a custom frontend. As I transition to this, I would continue to add content to my Notion database, which over time would make the database rather precious. My fear is that a wiser non-technical person wouldn't even build their content out in a Notion db. Maybe I can just write up my content in a markup language in a text editor? IDK. I guess I'm just worried that I'll regret building my content out in Notion. So, am I worrying about nothing? Is it basically trivially easy for an engineer to convert a Notion DB into an appropriate format later on?
@CodinginPublic Жыл бұрын
I would say it depends :) I'm no expert and it would depend on the complexity of your data, but there's always some vendor lock in. I'd look into Notion exporting options if you really want to be safe from vender lock in. There are also services that can build out custom sites based on your Notion DB, so that's another option?
@SolLeeYT Жыл бұрын
@@CodinginPublic I guess "depends" is the only honest answer, haha. That vendor lock-in is part of my concern. But I've decided that I shouldn't worry about this and just work with what I have, which is a Notion database, which at least is a database rather than a spreadsheet or, worse, a mishmash of GDocs. Presumably an engineer will be able to figure out some way of converting the Notion database when needed, despite the limited export options.
