Bryony, I love your communication in the videos, it is simple to understand and helps promote the skills we are trying to develop and also improves social understanding. Certainly for Autism, all your tips are great and Enthusiasm is the key behind whatever task you are doing, which helps to gain attention, at least that is what I have found.

@@BryonyRust i mean that all of above we use to help a child to visualize , Im just curious how this strategy is diffrent to pictures/flashcards or gestures. Does it depend where the childs language level is?

@@hennashajdari6825 Oh great! Yes, it depends on where the child is at. Gestures are always a useful place to start and can really complement other strategies you use. Objects of reference are particularly useful for children who don't show an interest in looking at pictures, or who haven't made the connection between picture and real life object. Objects are an easy starting point, before later moving on to pictures.
