Love it already. I'm not a sound engineer, just a course presenter trying to edit my audios, and Audacity sounded a bit complex for my needs. I downloaded this and (as a test) used it to delete a section from my recorded script. It worked beautifully. Thanks for keeping it simple.

Audacity has more features but I prefer ocenaudio. Two big advantages it has over Audacity is that 1. It's simplicity in deign which makes it easier to use like Audition, and 2. real-time editing and effects.

Thank you so much for this. I'm using a Spark Digital USB condenser mic which once plugged into my new Macbook air 10.15.5 with an adaptor for the USB(c) connection, it detects the the mic and wave form appears when I record but I can't hear anything when I play back through my headphones. I haven't been prompted to put in my output source

Something I haven't quite figured out is using it for seamlessly cutting out parts of a song. Audacity has an effect called "crossfade clips" which allows you to sort of crop the middle part of the selection by fading the start into the end of the selection. Useful for editing out clipping or noise, coughing, or other unwanted parts. Any idea how to replicate this with OcenAudio?

When I try recording as shown here, the program only records on one channel, even though it's set to stereo. Playback over headphones only comes out of one side. Using a 2019 15" MacBook Pro. Messing around in the settings, I see that it says the MBP mic only has one channel. Surely the mics in these things are nice enough to record in stereo? Driving me crazy, I can't figure it out! Anybody else having trouble with this??

Hello. Great video. I just started using OcenAudio since Audacity is messing up on me lately. I have been using Audacity for years, but now since it has been sold, things strange are happening. One odd behavior is the record button seems to not work properly, you have to click is multiple times and it is inconsistent. Additionally, it seems to stop recording after a short time if Firefox is open. Very strange. I am on Linux Mint 19.1. Hey would happen to know if you can set up OcenAudio, so that you can HEAR YOURSELF IN YOUR HEADPHONES when recording (as you can in Audacity). I can't bloody well figure out how to do that! I am trying to add music to the beginning of a recording and fade into speech without a hiccup - can I do this. In Audacity you can move the tracks to overlap but no idea how to do this in this program, which is v g in all other respects it seems. Please help - any comments welcome

Hi, I want to convert my old audio cassette tapes to mp3. I have a Maginon ACC-01 that has usb output of undefined type. I also have working copies of both Audacity and OcenAudio on my Win 10 laptop. My lack of knowledge in this area has prevented me from doing the job. descriptions are either absent or inadequate for me. I have been using OceanAudio for more than a year & I'm very familiar with the program but, suddenly, I cannot play the files (the controls are grayed-out + says 'read only' on top). I can still edit & export or 'save as' and play the file on another device but I need to hear it so I can properly edit. I can't find help with this problem anywhere... any suggestions? Started using it on Windows 10 64 bit, but it keeps trying to find effect modules that are not there. It tries to look in a 32 bit folder which does not exist. So every time I open the program, I have to shut down over a hundred dialogue boxes telling me that it can't find a bunch of effects. Can anyone help? Do they have a support forum?

Hi Jack! Actually, “Preferences” IS in a rather ODD spot! {I had to Hunt for it TOO.) For Preferences (Options):: Select Menu ""EDIT"" .. Then “Preferences” is the Final Option.
