Pressing fan button without holding it will only turn fan on and off. So if you turn it off, then turn it back on, it would go to whichever speed it was on before. However if you turn off the power then turn on the power, it would reset to default speed, high.

I printed out a small piece of paper with the instructions for the normally-used settings for the 3-button W11, and stuck it under the trim piece for the switch. To turn the fan on and off, press the FAN switch for less than one second. To set the fan speed (1 through 6), press and hold the FAN switch until desired speed is reached, then release switch. To reverse the fan, simultaneously press FAN and LIGHT switches and release. In general, leave the POWER switch on, then the fan remembers the speed it was last set to.

W-32 controlled Intellitouch fans also perform a very nice security feature when on vacation. Start with the power off. Turn on the power. Then immediately turn on the light, then press fan, then light again, then fan again. You will hear a series of beeps. The lights will be on, the fan will not. The lights will cycle on and off every two hours until you return home and press the power button. To recap... Power off Press power on, then immediately press...... Light Fan Light Fan

Hi, this is very helpful, thank you. Our fan was installed new in 2010 and the light button on the wall switch when held down is no longer dimming the light like it used to. Could it be broken? Any troubleshooting ideas? Thank you

Well shit, i had no idea it could do all that. And i thought the reverse just didn't work because the button seemingly did nothing but beep. Weird design, but very nice functionality. Mine only uses 2 conductors too, which is impressive.

my light only dims if I press it fast.. from very dim to very bright, back to dim.. it only turns off after I press the power button. I received this as a used set. it does however have a led bulb in it. any suggestions? I don't have a regular bulb to test but shouldn't the bulb have no power if you simply just press it fast? when I press the power button the light automatically comes on in dim mode.. no way to turn it off currently tly other then power button. 🤦🏻‍♂️

When I turn power on, and then hold the fan button, it makes one short beep and turns once and then shuts off. I have to play with it for an hour before I get the successive beeps and can choose my power level. Then someone turns off power and I am fycked all over again because it defaults to high speed, which is way too high and a stupid default setting: why the hell not just make the default setting a medium speed? Ready to rip the damn thing out of my ceiling

Looks like the board (computer) inside the fan is about to die. You could use the fan man conversion kit to convert your fan to a current control system that is much more use easy to use. fanmanlighting.com/shop/new-repair-replacement-parts/intelli-touch-conversion-for-gen-2-for-1987-through-2008/
