You can use the paddles in either D or M, but shifting into M allows the 6L80E to hold the gear in addition of using more aggressive programmed shift points. Using the paddles in D will work, but when cruising it will throw the transmission back into D with the softer shift points. In either mode it will automatically go into second gear when slowing or stopping say at a stop light. That logic is derived from the 2to4 shift logic present in the T56 manuals of the contemporary Camaro and Corvette designed to combat the gas guzzler tax and meet CAFE standards. For others who might not know or are new owners of a 2014-2015 model with the color HUD, putting the HUD into track mode (denoted by a left and right g meter) will present a shift light projection on the windshield where you will see multicolored arrows(example: >>>>>

when you downshift do you take your foot off the gas or is your foot always giving gas while shifting up or down?

shifting down I usually take my foot off shifting up I keep it on the gas

So I always shifted between 4 and 5? And when I’m cruising I don’t have to upshift?

jus depends on where your rpm is if your cruising it shouldn’t feel as if the car is getting pulled it should just roll

I see ur cruising in 4th gear, does that mean you can ride in the gear when ur in right speed of the gear?

@@starmade9367if you want a satisfying downshift, press the downshift paddle at 2K rpms and give it a blip simultaneously
