Really good explanation. A couple of things to point out for those new to yield farming and enticed by the high APY pools. Do keep a close eye on them as often there is a lot of interest at token launch and then the trading volume (and APY) drops away significantly. Absolutely nothing wrong with that, but manage your funds actively.

Great video and explanation. Defi is moving so fast and there is so much jargon to process, it is hard to keep current. Your video helped. But LP stablecoins is not low risk. There is great strategic risk on choosing the wrong stablecoin. Eg. Luna UST died. BUSD has been decommissioned. Regulators may torpedo stablecoins and kill them.

Sorry guys I don’t get what’s the point of yield farming. Impermanent loss happens when the coin increases in value. Why not just stake the coin accepting a lower return and if the value of the coin increases then capitalize on appreciation

You have to chose the pairs carefully. I do this on Cardano. I have about 8 pools I provide liquidity too. I have each set up with calculations to look at my impermanent loss. I also only do it to pools that have yield farming too. Especially if they have double rewards.. Some are showing some IL on the value of the tokens but it is more than made up by the rewards. Every pool I have ever done has made lots of profits, way out stripping any IL. However, you want to avoid a very large MC and a very small MC that could explode in price as this is where IL will hurt you more,

Staking freezes access to your money. Once you stake it, you can't taking any of your crypto out for the agreed time that could be a month up to a whole year. The compensation is higher because there is more risk.

So im curious, u showed eg. Bnb at 400 and future price of 480 and higher and showing the impermanent loss so i guess that means yur losing whatever the impermanent loss is from your return of 10% LP's APY but havent u gained like 20% from just owning the stock and it jumped 400 to 480 And the other thing i didnt see is what happens when instead of going up what happens when bnb starts at 400 and in future its 300 does that give u an impermanent profit instead of loss so ud make the 10% from yur pairs LP plus an impermanent profit so even though the coin lost 25% from 400 to 300, yur getting 10% from LP and (X amount of %) impermanent profit or gain or is that not right

yes but the new pools are not 70%. new flexible pool is only 12% so do the locked pool which is 240% but locked for a year. the % will go down more as more cakes are staked in the pool.
