I always make profit just around 50 pips on average by using Parabolic Sar on M5. No need to hunt bigger pips. Close and exit.Then, find an entry and exit.

very good video. i can tell that you read j. welles wilder's book, unlike many on youtube who try to explain ATR and parabolic SAR incorrectly, or poorly, at best. i've considered giving my broker the green light to auto-trade certain contracts (grains and livestock) using his SAR signals but i'm having a hard time accepting the fact that i'll have multiple trades that will last days or weeks before getting stopped out at a loss, in pursuit of eventually hooking a long term trend. i know it's unavoidable with this methodology/system. even though it should produce good results long term, i just know the temptation to tamper with the stops will be too great (for me). some of your suggestions confirmed some ideas i kicked around. especially using it alongside another 2nd, longer term guide like a MA or DMI, but that contradicts the whole basis of his calculations (ATR, ARC, AF, SIP, SIC) and would likely take my eye off price action long enough to distract me. you give good advice NOT to mess with the inputs since it's all relative and impossible to optimize. good job.

Long term trend following is certainly not for the faint of heart. Seeing gains wiped out especially if there was an obvious move that would make you take profit (think of large momentum in your direction - take that gift). One way some deal with it and lets use a 20 day breakout as an example....is to take your exit at the 10 day high or low. That may be something for you to investigate with he Sar trades.

I like this indicator. Testing it now. Unsurprisingly it fails quite badly. Maybe it can be right 25 % of the time. What was in this video that should make it work better? Some long term moving average? I watched another video that said you should combine it with ichimoku. As for using it as a trailing stop it can work if the trend has at least 15 candles. Most of the time it is just too far away from the top/bottom of price. Very often I see it break one PSAR and ot switches side when using it as a trailing stop loss so I wait for it to form 2 new lines in the opposite direction before I exit.

I combine this in a 30 min chart, MACD and ADX, it works pretty well but Parabolic SAR and ADX works very well to be honest. got some good pips out of these 3 altogether
