Thank you so much for this! I am an English teacher in South Korea. It's easy to teach the 'feeling' participial adjectives, but the ones that weren't about feelings are more difficult to explain. I knew it had to do with active/passive usage, but I was having trouble putting it into words.

Can I distinguish between the passive form and the adjective? I'm interested in... The building was (totally) damaged.. For me, passive and adjective by past participles are not distinguished (unless the adjective is simply before the noun; lost keys, excited children... etc.)

Hi I am confused about one thing. One source says " There is no such thing as a “participle adjective”. Participles are verbs, not adjectives. However, some adjectives look like participles." Is it false? There is such thing as a participle adjective. Could you explain me that confusion?

can the example "The barked dogs kept me awake all night" mean that there are other dogs, who have barked at the dogs near my house, who, in turn, kept me awake all night?
@ricardoalejandroleonvargas92754 жыл бұрын
interesting point of view.. but the sentence has more sense if your referring about some dogs who were barking, thats why the person was awake all night 'cause all the noises... the barked dogs makes not much sense, maybe "the frightened dogs.." ('cause other dog were barking in a fight maybe) could be better.
